THE PATRIOTIC SPEECH GIVEN BY TNBTP AT CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS PARK JULY 4, 2009

236 years ago Colonists stood on this very ground throwing boxes of tea into Boston Harbor. They were known as the Sons of Liberty. Those brave men were protesting taxes without representation. Taxes levied by the Crown on Tea shipped to the Colonies from Britain. It was possible that Paul Revere was here that day to witness the event. This action was known as the Boston Tea Party. And because of their revolutionary efforts we are here today to celebrate their legacy on Independence Day. However, we are Patriots of a different era, but our protest is similar. We protest run away government and its intrusion into the lives of all Americans.
From the original tea party to The New Boston Tea Party we protest a bureaucracy out of control, run by politicians with a Marxist philosphy, which if not downsized soon, will encumber future generations with the debts of our failures. So far the Federal, State and Local governments have not heard our call. Let us remind them that this tea party revolution is not a tempest in a tea pot. It is the start of The 2nd Boston Tea Party, one that is resonating across this great land.
Look around; bear witness to a country built by capitalists, free enterprise and individual liberty. Socialism did not build this country. Big government is responible for the Madoff Scandal, AIG, the collapse of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, not to mention the Banking disaster. But according to the socialist agenda of President Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry, Ed Markey and Barney Frank, bigger government is the solution.
Big government is responsible for our National Debt of 100 trillion dollars. Our message to Washington D. C. “stops the spending now, we can’t afford it any more.” “ The united States Government has been running the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time and it is time that “WE THE PEOPLE” demand that it be shut down.”
To quote John Fitzgerald Kennedy in his 1961 inaugural address, "Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” The socialist politicians have turned his message upside down. They believe that the government can do everthing for you , no matter what the cost.
For the past 75 years government has tried to solve our problems, but we know now that the New Deal under Franklin Delano Roosevelt was a bad deal, that the Great Society under Lyndon Baines Johnson turned into a welfare society and we predict that the Socialist agenda under Barack Hussein Obama will turn out to be another BIG DIG. We say to these progressive left leaning politicians, if you like Socialism so much, go to Venezuela, we will pay for a one way ticket.
As Paul Revere cried out during his Midnight Ride, “the enemy is coming”, we cry out that “the enemy is already here.” Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano, called those who protest Terrorists; I remind the Secretary that those who seek to destroy our way of life are the real terrorists and they can be found roaming the halls of Congress. We the citizens who protest are the Patriots.
The socialists have spread their tentacles from government to corporate America. They have taken stakes in GM,Chrysler, AIG, BAC, Citi, WFC, FNM, FRE and soon they will take over our health care system. These Marxists tyrants are intent on destroying our present way of life and if given a chance will most certainly destroy our future way of life. However, we New England Patriots have a very stern message for them. It was written in 1809 by General John Stark, New Hampshires most famous soldier of the Revolutionary War and adopted as their State motto in 1945. “Live Free or Die.” That is our rallying cry. They can no longer Tread on us.
And to those in Washington who are not familiar with the third stanza of Bob Dylan’s hit song they should be. It was released in 1964, “The Times They are a-Changin” .
Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's a battle outside
And it is ragin'.
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'.
And we cannot forget Ralph Waldo Emerson’s “Concord Hymn” written in 1836. It referred to “the shot heard around the world”, known then as the beginning of the American Revolutionary War. The hymn was sung on July 4th 1837 at Concord’s Independence Day celebration upon the completion of the Concord Monument which immortalized the Minute Men. We remind those on Capitol Hill that the American Revolution started here at Lexington and Concord and what better place for today’s Revolution to start, in the Great State of Massachusetts that brought us Liberty, Freedom and Justice.
To those in Washington D.C. we remind you again that the signers of the Declaration of Independence, who on that Fourth of July in 1776 declared that “We are a Government of the People by the People and for the People” wanted big government out of their lives . Those Patriots from “The Bay State” included John Adams, Sam Adams, and John Hancock. We stand here today, July 4, 2009 and salute our FOUNDING FATHERS. It is time that “We the Patriots of today give those TURN COATES in Washington D.C. a lesson on Climate Change; they have a choice, take a permanent vacation to Antarctica where they can experience Global Warming first hand or to be thrown overboard like the boxes of tea that were thrown into Boston Harbor 233 years ago.
Remember Tea Party Day is every Day until or rights are restored. Thank you very much and God Bless the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the greatest Nation on Earth, the United States of America.
