IN THE RED CORNER ARE THE PATRIOTIC TAXPAYERS, IN THE BLUE CORNER ARE THE UNPATRIOTIC TAXEATERS

Every Red Blooded American has read story after story of the Public Pension Bomb. This is not something to dismiss lightly. City after City, State after State and the Federal Government too is in such a precarious position today because of the lucrative retirement packages given to public employees.  If this liability is not addressed soon, our Country, State and Local governments will face social unrest, pitting Public employees against the Private Sector who pays the bills. Many towns across this country have and are contemplating bankruptcy because they do not have the tax revenue to pay their pension liability. This is the start of a grass roots movement which is addressing the issue front and center.  It is up to you the Patriot to get involved at the local, state and federal level. Demand union give backs, demand salary freezes and most of all demand that contracts be opened to reflect the economic reality of today. While private industry has bitten the bullet, the public sector has escaped virtually unharmed.

We emphasize that the taxpayers are not against civil servants who work hard in positions that are necessary for the functioning of a working society. However, the taxpayer is paying a heavy price in today's economic environment. The government, from the local to the federal level is out of control. Layers upon layers of bureaucrats with no direction, many who are in positions because of political payoffs, others who are paper pushers with no responsiblity performing functions with little value. Administrators on top of administrators with only one goal in mind, which is to keep the bureaucratic wheels turning. Big government against sourcing, they are against the adaption of new ways to tackle todays solutions and are last to embrace today's ever changing world.

We have not changed the teaching mechanism in over 50 years; same old system, 8 years grammar school (6 elementary, 2 middle) and 4 years of high school. In fact 7 years of elementary school and 3 years of high school would be more beneficial. Students would be more focused, thereby more motivated to learn.  The old paradigm of every student needs to graduate college has to be changed. After all, the majority of students graduating high school may be better off transitioning to trade school, private industry, the military,  attending a two year technical school or an on the job training program. One must look at the courses a student must take to graduate and analyze it in monetary terms. For instance, at a cost of $10,000 per college semester, the average student may take 12 credits or 4 courses. This equates to $2500 per course or $833 per credit hour.  The student has to ask the question, am I getting $2500 worth of knowledge from some of these courses? Will I be better off just getting the mandatory $100 course book and reading it. Can I challenge an exam without attending a course and get credit for it. Thereby, spend my resources on courses that will be relevant in today's competitive environment.  These are the issues that need to be addressed.

You must ask questions, why do I need some of these course, why are they so expensive. Bureacracy is the answer. An example will high light the quagmire of a typical college course. Thirty students per course, at $2500 each, equates to $75,000 gross revenue. The professor teaches 4 of these course per day, one hour each, total gross revenue for the college is $300,000 per semester.  Does the professor get all of this money? How much is the professor making?  At $100,000 maximum which is a liberal estimate, leaves $200,000 for administrative costs. You may ask what is going on here, teacher salaries are 33% and administrative cost 66%. Well now you have it in a nut shell, the bureaucray at its finest. Multiply this by hundreds and you now know why the taxpayer is broke.

Back to the public sector, the federal government and most state governments have not downsized. We are facing a fiscal and economic calamity. Private industry has adapted to the new environment, but because of union pressure, the politicians have not found the courage to layoff federal and state workers. This is a down right slap in the face to the taxpayer.  Yes, Uncle Sam is printing up money like it is going our of style. Wait until the bill comes in and inflation matches the unemployment rate. Wait when our trading partners tell us that to purchase their products it is cash on delivery, no paper money please, only gold or silver. Then the socialist politicians will wake up, but it will be too late.  However, we the PATRIOTS OF TODAY can force the situation. We can vote out the socialist parasites working at all levels of government, we can make a change. Get active, turn American into 50 red states, it is mandatory that it be done for the future of our Country. if not, we will become a second rate country.

                                  THE SOLUTION
WE AT TNBTP HAVE THE SOLUTION TO THE FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL PENSION BOMB THAT AWAITS TODAYS TAXPAYER AND FUTURE TAXPAYERS ALIKE. Yes, you and your kids and their kids will be saddled with a burden too heavy to bare unless we act now.. PUBLIC PENSIONS ARE OUT OF CONTROL.  Our solution proposed by TNBTP is the simplest solution yet devised. Since the average pension provided by private companies is approximately $15,000 coupled with social security of $20,000 to total $35,000, we here at TNBTP propose a 100 TAX on all amounts above the $35,000 received by retired public employees.  Therefore, the public employee receiving a $100,000 per year pension will be taxed $65,000 on the excess. A person receiving $80,000 will be taxed $45,000 on the amount above the $35,000.  Please note that the pension funds will then be saved and likewise taxes can be reduced substantially as future sinking fund payments will shrink.

This solution sounds impossible, but to start the revolution request from you town and your state a list of the pension payments to those who have retired. Once you have the list submit it to the local newspaper in your state for publication. Better yet, publish it on your blog, if you don't have a blog email it to us at TNBTP and we will list the top 25 in your state or town. This will outrage the taxpayers. They will call for action from the grassroots. More taxpayers will join the cause, a firestorm will erupt across this great land. it is now time that the REVOLUTION begins. On the eve of July 4, our INDEPENDENCE DAY, REVOLUTION is in the air.

Our History

In 1857, one hundred educators answered a national call to unite as one voice in the cause of public education. At the time, learning to read and write was a luxury for most children—and a crime for many Black children. One hundred and fifty years later, public education and the profession of teaching are transformed. In 1966 we joined forces with the American Teachers Association. Since then, our voice has swelled to 3.2 million members, and what was once a privilege for a fortunate few is now an essential right for every American child, regardless of family income or place of residence.

Since its beginning, the National Education Association has been ahead of its time, crusading for the rights of all educators and children. Learn more about NEA's rich history, from welcoming Black members four years before the Civil War and electing a woman as president a full decade before Congress granted women the right to vote, to the 1966 merger with the American Teachers Association during the height of the Civil Rights Movement.

Our four-part NEA Today series, Answering the Call: A History of the National Education Association, honors the legacy and impact of public education and educators in America.
