The media has been all abuzz regarding the "no child left behind" and "the rise to the top". It ain't happening. Until we get real reform in our schools, nothing will change. Kids will suffer because of incompetent teachers. Yes, incompetent teachers who are protected by "tenure".  Tenure is the guarantee that a teacher will have a life time job teaching no matter how bad or incompetent they are. It does not matter what the students think of you, your job is iron clad. We have now learned that teachers have gone on strike across this country in protest., do to the thinning out of their ranks. The recession has had an effect on the teachers employment situation.
 
Along with layoffs,  cities are now pressuring the teachers unions to give back benefits and freeze salaries. This is not palatable to the socialist unions who run the education industry. And they are fighting back by striking. Of course the parents and taxpayers are mad, both for different reasons. And kids suffer the most.  Our suggestion to the kids who have the bad luck of sitting in class all day, only to learn nothing because  their teacher is incompetent. What to do about it? "HEY KIDS, GO ON STRIKE, DON'T SHOW UP FOR CLASS UNTIL THE TEACHER IS REPLACED.' If they can go on strike, so can you.  This will put the fear of God into the teachers union.  With no students in class there will be no need to have an incompetent teacher on the payroll. "KIDS RULE", NOW THAT IS THE SAYING THAT NEEDS TO BE PLASTERED ON YOUR TEE SHIRTS.
