THE ECONOMICS OF ILLEGAL ALIENS
An apple harvester in the state of Washington, a construction worker in the state of Texas, a dishwasher in the state of New York and a lettuce picker in the state of California, all illegal aliens are the target of those who want to send them back to where they came from. What do all of these illegal aliens have in common beside being illegal? They work for companies that hired them. These companies all tow the same line. The apple grower complains that there are no Americans who will pick apples, the construction company says there are no Americans who will dig ditches in the hot Texas sun, the restauranteur says Americans won't wash dishes and the lettuce farmer says Americans won't till the soil, plant the seed and then harvest the lettuce. This is complete nonsense.
The owners of these entities are violating American law. They have hired workers who illegally came to this country with the sole purpose of working for wages, in the majority of cases lower than those allowed by Federal and State law. These companies are not only guilty of violating the law but they have contributed to the influx of the illegals.
The companies that hire illegals have lower costs and therefore are able to sell their products at prices below what they could if they hired legal workers. For example, if the farmer had to pay $15 per hour to attract a legal American to work in the apple orchard, his cost would rise. Therefore, he has a choice, try to sell the apples for a higher price or eat the extra expense. But isn't having legal workers and paying market wages the way all businesses work? They pay market rates to attract workers. But the farmer in our example wants a free pass. This is outrageous. Secondly, and no one ever brings this up, the apple farmer who has legal workers is at a competitive disadvantage. Is this fair?
And when a restaurant hires an illegal to wash dishes, he takes the opportunity away from an American who will be glad to work at market rates. But the restauranteur feels that paying market rates for a menial task is not fair. This again is a liars argument. Americans will be glad to wash dishes if paid a market rate. For example if the restaurant has a sign in his window that reads, "dishwasher wanted, $6 per hour" and no one applies, the restaurant will have to raise the hourly rate until the market accepts it. And if the price of a meal needs to be increased to account for the rise in costs, so be it. The market will determine if the new price is reasonable. And again, if it isn't the restaurant will either have to eat the cost or find a way to reduce expenses else where.
Legal businesses hire based on supply and demand, If a position opens and a company advertises for a worker to fill the position, responses by applicants will determine the prevailing pay scale. If there are no responses the rate to attract a worker will have to be raised. But those companies that hire illegals do not want to pay a prevailing rate. So you see their false argument when they tell you that Americans will not do this type of work.
Americans will work in the field, they will work in the ditch, they will work in the kitchen if paid a wage that is based on the free market. By hiring the illegal alien, the companies that do so, are anti-American and law breakers, guilty of crimes that border on treason. This must be stopped now. Thank you Arizona.
To those who purchase products from companies that hire illegals, they are indirectly receiving the benefit, but they are unknowingly condoning a system that will destroy this country. The reason we say this is two fold; we, our sons and daughters are deprived of the opportunity to work at for the prevailing, market driven, wage and secondly our high standard of living will continue to suffer as we ride the slippery slope that ends in a third world country. The illegals major goal is to come to our country, work and send the money back home where the cost of living is much lower than here. For example, in Mexico you can build a nice house for $20,000. Who would not want to come here, work for 3 or 4 years, save all of the money and go back to your home country and live like a king. That is one aspect of the illegal problem, taking jobs from Americans and sending the money out of the country.
The second aspect is the children that are born to the illegals while here. They are citizens and are entitled to our health care, education and housing. Who pays for these bills? Don,'t guess, please!. And the multiplier becomes more burdensome. And we must repeat, we are not against any immigrant, we are against illegal immigration. We are law abiding citizens. We are not against the Chinese, the Indians, the Mexican, the Ecuadorian, the Venezuelan, we are against the illegal. Those who want to enjoy this country must obey the law. And to those who are responsible for enforcing the law that allowed this situation to get out of hand, you are guilty of treason. Your took an oath to uphold the law, which you did not do.
And we ask the Labor Unions, do you support illegals? If so why? The more illegals in this country, the less union members will be employed. Why hire a union guy, whey you can hire an illegal at half the price. If you support President Obama, tell him to clamp down more on companies that hire illegals. Tell the President that he should stand up for America and protect the law abiding citizens of this country.
Connecticut's Senator Christopher Dodd, a lame duck by the way, he was forced to resign and will not be seeking office in November. This is due to the baggage he carries around with him. He will become an illegal alien of the first degree come January 1, 2011. We must quote him on the illegal alien bill which was signed by the far sighted governor of Arizona, "Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., said Sunday that Congress needs to act to make sure other states don't follow Arizona's lead.
"The idea that state by state would start developing its own immigration laws in the country -- imagine what a patchwork that might look like," Dodd told NBC's "Meet the Press." "It's demanding a national answer to immigration policy, so before this even gets further out of hand, we've got to step up and do the job."
Dodd called the Arizona law "outrageous." We must admit that this clown has chutzbah. If Congress did their job, we would not have this problem. He said the bill signed into law by the governor of Arizona is "outrageous". Apparently Dodd is not concerned with criminal elements slipping into this country. What else do you expect from one with no ethical or moral standards to fall back on? Imagine that "states will be drafting their own immigration laws". Arizona is drafting any immigration law, they are enforcing one on the books already. This is another charade by the progressive establishment. Liar, liar, your pants are on fire.
