It came all of a sudden, the year was 1971. The play book was the same as the one utilized by FDR in 1933, this time a Republican was at the helm. In 1933, citizens had to turn in their gold, confiscation by the Socialists in power. In 1971, inflation roaring like there was no tomorrow, a run on our gold supply, Fort Know was being taken to the cleaners. No more exchanging dollars for gold. And what happened in those intervening years, inflation, inflation and more inflation.  Now the United States faces a crisis. Because the government was able to print dollar after dollar with abandon, no more convertibility. The teller window was closed, no more dollar exchange at $35 per ounce. The new world order, Big Government could for all intense and purposes print dollars until they go out of style. It didn't matter, we no longer had to sell our gold for $35 per ounce. 

Well the time has come where the piper has to be paid. Gold is now testing the $1250 per ounce level, 35 times what it was 40 years ago. The dollar has been debased, our life style has been subverted by Big Government.  Our politicians have not told the truth. They have let us down, both parties bear responsibility. The greatest transfer of wealth has occurred during the past 45 years, but to no avail. And because it did not create the utopia envisioned by the Obama machine, the spending will ramp up several fold in the next 10 years. As our creditors become nervous, they will require more interest to compensate them for risk. And do not be alarmed if on that future day, our government reneges on the debt owed by restructuring our liabilities. That seems to be the only way out. Will it be a 2 for 1, 3 for 1, 10 for 1? We don't know. What we do know is that gold reflects some cataclysmic event down that forked road. There are no countries waiting in the wings to bail us out. We are the beggars of the last resort.

The question remains, where do we go from here? The road ahead has a fork, one side says Socialism, the other says Capitalism.  Obama and company is taking us to the left where there is no return except purgatory. The right road is lies in waiting with a traffic cop holding a sign. It reads, "Please send us a messenger, one who is strong, one who is a Patriot, one who we can rally around."  So far no one has come forward.  But time is running short, two years go fast and the people are waiting. Until the future become clear, GOLD, is your friend.
