YOU THOUGHT THE HOUSING CRISIS WAS BAD? IT WAS ONLY A DROP IN THE BUCKET

The housing crisis is the fall guy. Most every one seems to agree with this statement. Only one problem, the housing crisis is not the actual fall guy. After a great deal of time, investigation and interpretation by the powers to be- Treasury Secretary-Fed Chairman-Senators-President- they came to the conclusion that it was now the banks and brokerage firms that were responsible for our current state. However, this was a smoke screen. It was not the banks, it was not the brokerage firms, IT WAS THE GOVERNMENT.  When has the government ever blamed itself? Just as the SEC failed to uncover the Madoff Scandal, the Fed failed to police the banks and condoned the housing bubble and the government turned a blind eye to the irresponsible.. The simple answer is that BIG GOVERNMENT WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ECONOMIC CRISIS WE NOW FACE.  Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were GSE's. (Government sponsored enterprizes).  Wasn't it Bill Clinton, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank and Andrew Cuomo who supported the idea of providing funds to potential home owners without having any skin in the game. They are the ones responsible for demise of Fannie and Freddie.

But we are not out of the woods. The CRISIS we see ahead will make the housing debacle seem like a pebble thrown into the ocean. The CRISIS we face is the MASSIVE DEBT BURDEN directly in front of us. We are not an island unto ourself -either was Greece.  Greece hit the debt wall and they became the new fall guy. Yes, Greece cooked the books, they failed to be truthful, they spent beyond their means, their government was corrupt. However, the Greek crisis is not over, the European Community has provided a stop gap measure, stop gap is a today solution, tomorrow Greece will be back with their hat in hand for more. They have not bitten the proverbial bullet. We are not far behind, but one question remains, who is going to bail us out?

And what goes around comes around, a contagion of free spending, hight taxing and entitlement giving politicians who have desecrated our principles and embarrassed the United States of America.  We are not going to bite the bullet. We can't, the pain will be too hard to swallow because our our leaders have no backbone.  By not biting the bullet today, our future will be so much more painful than one we are facing now. This pain will be similar to the effect of an asteroid falling into the ocean, rather than a pebble. Big Government has continued to make promises to their legions of socialist supporters, thereby saddling the taxpayer with more and more obligations that will be impossible to pay back.

Our future is not bright it is paved with trillions of dollars of government debt, all coming due in short order. Hopefully,  the youth of today will begin to realize that not only they will have to pay for it, but that they will not have received anything in return. When this realization becomes reality it will signal to us that the NEXT CRISIS will have arrived. And how does this play out? According to empirical evidence, when a generation feels "tread upon" a massive shift in ideologies occurs and hence revolutions result.

We cannot attempt to describe this coming armageddon, but only provide a glimpse of the not too distant future. We do this for our Love for the United States; not for our own satisfaction. We have lived the good life, it is now our obligation as Americans to keep our pledge to the next generation to make it better than ours. Big Government is standing in our way. We need change now. We ask for your help, tomorrow will be too late.
