Government programs are being cut to the bone, some are even being eliminated. These are the result of an economy propped up by deficit spending and runaway big government. However, many of these programs need not be cut. There is no shortage of money, but there is a shortage of "lack of will." The politicians do not have the will to demand cutbacks, give backs and restructuring of the  compensation and benefits of government employees. If, and this is a big if, the compensation/benefits of government employees were equal to those in the private sector, all programs would not have to be cut. There you have it, the politicians and their union supporters are to blame for the cutbacks in social programs.
