THIS FOURTH OF JULY AND THE SIMILARITIES TO THE ONE 234 YEARS AGO
Two hundred thirty four years ago our forefathers declared their independence from Great Britain. If it were not for them we would not be here to celebrate their anniversary today on this Fourth of July. The days leading up to the Declaration of Independence were pure hell. Battles were fought, men were killed, but our presence here is proof that they did not die in vain. Quantitative decisions to throw off the chains of government in order to be free are not made recklessly. And to that end, our Founding Fathers set out to build a new nation, one based on Liberty, Freedom and Justice. It is our duty to preserve their legacy with all of the power within us. The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America hen in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. We stand here today as Patriots of a different era, but our cry, our protest our cause is the same. It is a just cause. We have not sought this confrontation; it has been thrust upon us. Our leaders have failed to remember; “that we are a government of the People, by the people and for the people”. And because of their failures, it is they who have precipitated another American Revolution. "We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force ." Ayn Rand “The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me.” We know the answer to that question, it is our Government. They believe that they alone have the Supreme Authority to dictate the course we must follow in life; a course not to our liking. This is the very reason for out protest, one which is not dissimilar to the protest of our Founding Fathers. We say to those in Washington D.C. and the various State Capitols, the time has come for you, our representatives, to re-evaluate the purpose of Government. Because if change does not occur soon, we the people will have no alternative but to throw off the chains of Tyranny once again, the same chains that compelled our Founding Fathers to declare their independence on that July 4, 1776.
