I watched it descend into the abyss of crime, debauchery, gun play, drugs, school truancy, car-jacking, gangs, and human depravity. I watched entire city blocks burned out. I watched graffiti explode on buildings, cars, trucks, buses, and school yards. Trash everywhere ! Detroiters walked through it, tossed more into it, and ignored it. Tens of thousands, and then hundreds of thousands today exist on federal welfare, free housing, and food stamps ! With Aid to Dependent Children, minority women birthed eight to 10, and in one case, one woman birthed 24 children as reported by the Detroit Free Press, all on American taxpayer dollars. A new child meant a new car payment, new TV, and whatever mom wanted. I saw Lyndon Baines Johnson's "Great Society" flourish in Detroit . If you give money for doing nothing, you will get more hands out taking money for doing nothing. Mayor Coleman Young, perhaps the most corrupt mayor in America , outside of Richard Daley in Chicago , rode Detroit down to its knees. He set the benchmark for cronyism, incompetence, and arrogance. As a black man, he said, "I am the MFIC." The IC meant "in charge". You can figure out the rest. Detroit became a majority black city with 67 percent African-Americans. As a United Van Lines truck driver for my summer job from teaching math and science, I loaded hundreds of American families into my van for a new life in another city or state. Detroit plummeted from 1.8 million citizens to 912,000 today. At the same time, legal and illegal immigrants converged on the city, so much so, that Muslims number over 300,000. Mexicans number 400,000 throughout Michigan , but most work in Detroit . As the whites moved out, the Muslims moved in. As the crimes became more violent, the whites fled. Finally, unlawful Mexicans moved in at a torrid pace. Detroit suffers so much shoplifting that grocery stores no longer operate in many inner city locations. You could cut the racial tension in the air with a knife! Detroit may be one of our best examples of multiculturalism: pure dislike, and total separation from America . Today, you hear Muslim calls to worship over the city like a new American Baghdad with hundreds of Islamic mosques in Michigan , paid for by Saudi Arabia oil money. High school flunk out rates reached 76 percent last June, according to NBC's Brian Williams. Classrooms resemble more foreign countries than America . English? Few speak it! The city features a 50 percent illiteracy rate and growing. Unemployment hit 28.9 percent in 2009 as the auto industry vacated the city. In this week's Time Magazine October 4, 2009, "The Tragedy of Detroit: How a great city fell, and how it can rise again," I choked on the writer's description of what happened. "If Detroit had been ravaged by a hurricane, and submerged by a ravenous flood, we'd know a lot more about it," said Daniel Okrent. "If drought, and carelessness had spread brush fires across the city, we'd see it on the evening news every night. Earthquake, tornadoes, you name it, if natural disaster had devastated the city that was once the living proof of American prosperity, the rest of the country might take notice. But Detroit , once our fourth largest city, now 11th, and slipping rapidly, has had no such luck. Its disaster has long been a slow unwinding that seemed to remove it from the rest of the country. Even the death rattle that in the past year emanated from its signature industry brought more attention to the auto executives than to the people of the city, who had for so long been victimized by their dreadful decision making." As Coleman Young's corruption brought the city to its knees, no amount of federal dollars could save the incredible payoffs, kick backs, and illegality permeating his administration. I witnessed the city's death from the seat of my 18-wheeler tractor trailer because I moved people out of every sector of decaying Detroit . "By any quantifiable standard, the city is on life support. Detroit 's treasury is $300 million short of the funds needed to provide the barest municipal services," Okrent said. "The school system, which six years ago was compelled by the teachers' union to reject a philanthropist's offer of $200 million to build 15 small, independent charter high schools, is in receivership. The murder rate is soaring, and 7 out of 10 remain unsolved. Three years after Katrina devastated New Orleans , unemployment in that city hit a peak of 11%. In Detroit , the unemployment rate is 28.9%. That's worth spelling out: twenty-eight point nine percent." At the end of Okrent's report, and he will write a dozen more about Detroit , he said, "That's because the story of Detroit is not simply one of a great city's collapse, it's also about the erosion of the industries that helped build the country we know today. The ultimate fate of Detroit will reveal much about the character of America in the 21st century. If what was once the most prosperous manufacturing city in the nation has been brought to its knees, what does that say about our recent past? And if it can't find a way to get up, what does that say about our future?" As you read in my book review of Chris Steiner's book, "$20 Per Gallon", the auto industry won't come back. Immigration will keep pouring more, and more uneducated third world immigrants from the Middle East into Detroit , thus creating a beachhead for Islamic hegemony in America . If 50 percent illiteracy continues, we will see more homegrown terrorists spawned out of the Muslim ghettos of Detroit . Illiteracy plus Islam equals walking human bombs. You have already seen it in Madrid , Spain ; London , England , and Paris , France with train bombings, subway bombings and riots. As their numbers grow, so will their power to enact their barbaric Sharia Law that negates republican forms of government, first amendment rights, and subjugates women to the lowest rungs on the human ladder. We will see more honor killings by upset husbands, fathers, and brothers that demand subjugation by their daughters, sisters and wives. Muslims prefer beheadings of women to scare the hell out of any other members of their sect from straying. Multiculturalism: what a perfect method to kill our language, culture, country, and way of life. I PRAY EVERYONE THAT READS THIS REALIZES THAT IF WE DONT STAND UP, AND SCREAM AT WASHINGTON , AND OUR STATE, CITY , AND LOCAL LEADERS THIS IS WHAT AWAITS THE REST OF AMERICA . IF YOU FOLLOW THE NEWS AT ALL YOU KNOW THIS HAS HAPPENED IN ENGLAND , AND FRANCE AND SPAIN . IF YOU THINK THIS IS JUST A BUNCH OF HOOEY AND YOU FEEL NO DUTY TO FIGHT FOR THIS COUNTRY, THEN I'M SORRY, I DONT KNOW WHAT IT WILL TAKE FOR YOU TO STAND AND FIGHT. ONLY THE FEDERAL ADMINISTRATION OR CONGRESS CAN STOP THIS CANCER FROM SPREADING TO OTHER CITIES...THE ADMINISTRATION WILL NOT DO IT (IT IS ANOTHER CRISIS THEY WANT FOR POLITICAL PURPOSES) SO IT IS UP TO CONGRESS. THE CURRENT CONGRESS WILL NOT DO IT, SO IT IS UP TO US TO ELECT NEW REPS AND SENATORS WHO HAVE THE MESSAGE FROM THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND HAVE THE GUTS TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT...DAMN THE POLITICAL CORRECTNESS...FULL SPEED AHEAD! Note: Having lived in southeastern Michigan for three years and having a daughter still living there, I can confirm that all of the above information is true and correct. The politicians have robbed the city coffers for many years now and have left the city broke and broken. Detroit has become a drain on the whole state. Tax dollars from other Michigan towns and cities are siphoned off and sent to Detroit to keep it going. That includes money for education in those cities and towns. The result is that those municipalities suffer for the sins of those running Detroit.
Back in the late 1990's I had a friend and his brother-in-law that were union sheet metal workers, they took jobs in Detroit to rehab a high school that had been demolished by the students, under the watchful eyes of the school administration and teachers, who did not give a damn. At the end of that school year there was one working toilet left in the girls bathrooms and same for boys bathrooms. Others were broken or ripped out completely. It was shocking and disgusting to see what these students were allowed to do to the schools and the amount of money wasted on them. But........the story gets worse. The school was completely fenced in to keep all but workers out of the site during the re-construction. Each day Mike and his brother-in-law would go to work and found that they were having to dodge bullets after getting out of their truck parked within the fence in area. They had to run into the building in order to not get shot. Needless to say they were not being paid for combat duty and they were not allowed to shoot back so they left the job and did not return. Detroit, MI has been a third world city for a few decades. There are blocks and blocks of empty houses (those that have not been burned down) and they can't sell them for even $1.00. It is not safe to live there, it is not safe to drive to downtown, it is not safe to go to the gambling casinos they built to bring in business. The city looks like it was hit with a bomb, and it was, the bomb of corrupt politicians, the scurge of America from your hometown to Washington, District of Corruption. I well remember when then Mayor of Detroit, Archer, sold most of the snow plows!!! And what was left was used to plow out his street and his route to city hall because and I quote "his job was most important." In a particular 24 inch snow storm it was over a week before the city was plowed out. Pray tell, why would the mayor sell the snow plows?
Wake up America this is happening in all major U.S. cities where the corruption goes unchecked and everyone looks the other way. Philadelphia is included in this list and when you ask "why do the residents put up with this crap", the response is "it has always been this way and with the unions and politicians, you can't change it." Isn't it time for the taxpayers to stand up and say they have had enough. Out all the corrupt and then vote them out of office. How well I remember a city meeting in Philly, when they were going to vote on whether to build a building or not, one they could not afford to do and three IBEW union members stood up and yelled at an older city commissioner "you had better vote yes for this old man or we will break your hip." I watched this as it happened on TV and it made me sick to my stomach. Something I will never forget and that man feared for his life, he voted what they wanted out of fear, not out of what was best for his city. Why do we stand by and allow this? Isn't there anyone out there with the guts to fight back, do what ever it takes to stop this, including putting these people in jail. This event is no different that what the Black Panthers did at the poling place in Philly, in uniform with billyclubs, to prevent white voters from voting. So typically Philly and everyone just looks the other way and although the Black Panthers were arrested under the previous administration, the present one has dropped the charges. In Philly people are paid $15.00 per vote to go to various polling places to cast votes, as many as they can from the time the polls open until they close. Some have been followed by news media but no charges are ever filed. Are you not outraged? I am. Did Eric Holder drop the charges because the people were black? Is Eric Holder a racist? It does make one wonder. I don't know about the rest of you but I am going to fight this corruption, I don't care what power the unions, the political parties and the corrupt politicians wield, I will fight them in any way I can. Join me please for the sake of our country. Don't turn a blind eye to what is happening, you can all see it, it is right in your face..................Lindsay
