Why in the hell does NATO keep Turkey in the alliance? There is nothing worse than a member of this exclusive club doing business with Russia and China; plus they provide weapons to Hamas and Hezbollah alongside Iran.
If you haven’t heard of the trouble maker Erdogan we bring you up to speed. First and foremost is the MV Mavi Marmara incident. Erdogan was forewarned not to send this flotilla. He paid the price. The Israeli Navy warned the flotilla via radio to stop approaching the naval blockade and to change course to the port of Ashdod. This request was denied and on 31 May 2010, Israeli Shayetet 13 naval commandos boarded the ships in international waters from speedboats and helicopters.
Turkey has signed a deal with Russia to buy S-400 missile defense systems, despite objections from the US and NATO. The first missiles and their associated radars could start to be delivered in July. This move has led to Turkey being kicked out of the F-35 program and facing sanctions. The deal is Ankara’s most significant with a non-NATO supplier.
Turkey continues air strikes in northern Iraq on Monday and destroyed 20 targets of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), the Turkish Defense Ministry said in a statement, adding many militants had been “neutralised” in the attack. This is another incident of Erdogan killing Kurdish freedom fighters in sovereign countries.
Erdogan cut the ribbon on the $110 million (99.5 million-euro) Diyanet Center of America on the outskirts of the US capital city Saturday, saying Muslims face growing prejudice around the world. He is building mosques in towns all across the United States, trying to convince non-believers to join radical Islam.
“Unfortunately, we are going through a rough time all around the world,” Erdogan said. “Intolerance towards Muslims is on the rise, not only here in the United States but also around the globe.”
Erdogan has courted controversy at home for his fiery rhetoric in branding his political enemies “terrorists” and is no less a polarizing figure on trips abroad.
About time Erdogan got the boot. A worldwide trouble maker that we can do without.
