Governor Dan Malloy, running for reelection, has rejected a request by President Obama to house illegals in Southbury, Connecticut at the Southbury Training School. The facility is located on 1600 bucolic acres in the western part of the state; once housing over 2000 intellectually disabled in 125 buildings over 1600 acres it is now lying mostly dormant with approximately 250 residents remaining. We highlight the cost to house each of the residents which is over $200,000 per year; that is Big Government for you. 
Most likely the cause of Governor Malloy’s denial can be related to the tight governor’s race. Four years ago Malloy won by a scant 6000 votes to the Republican challenger Tom Foley. Foley is again expected to be his opponent and the odds do not favor the Governor.
If the plan went ahead, large demonstrations could be expected. Not in my back yard (NIMBY) was Governor Malloy’s message to Obama. We have two suggestions: house the illegals in the neighborhoods of Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, not to mention Obama’s Chicago.
