POLLS DON’T LIE, OR DO THEY?

The recent poll showing Biden with a slim lead in the head to head match-up with Donald J. Trump, must be taken with a grain of salt, because a week ago, Trump was 3-6 points in front depending on individual polling. However, the contest will be decided by the “Swing States.”

Former President Donald Trump has an advantage over President Joe Biden in the U.S. states that are likely to decide the 2024 White House race, according to a poll released Wednesday.

Trump gets 48% support on average among swing-state voters, compared with 42% for Biden, according to the Bloomberg News-Morning Consult poll that focused on seven battleground states.

The Republican former president’s edge over the Democratic incumbent was biggest in North Carolina, at 10 percentage points, and smallest in Arizona and Pennsylvania, at 3 points, as shown in the chart below.

Some 51% of swing-state voters said they trusted Trump over Biden to handle the U.S. economy, while 33% said Biden would be better, according to the poll.

“Of the 69% who approve of her gubernatorial job performance, Trump still wins by a significant margin, 56%- 40%,” the pollster found.

Attack ads against Trump in South Carolina have also done little to win support for Haley.
Among the 59% of South Carolinians who have seen a negative ad targeting the former president, Trump leads 64% to Haley’s 33%.
Former Rep. Liz Cheney’s (R-Wyo.) recent plea for Haley to stay in the race until at least Super Tuesday has also backfired on the former South Carolina governor, the poll found.

Only 17% of those polled have a favorable opinion of Cheney, while 58% have an unfavorable view of the former congresswoman.

SOMALIAN SUICIDE BOMBER IS ONE STEP CLOSER TO SELF EXPLODING

Rep. Ilhan Omar faces calls to ‘resign in disgrace’ over speech in support of Somalia

A top House Republican called on Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) to resign Monday for delivering a speech in which her critics say she placed Somali interests ahead of American ones.

“Ilhan Omar’s appalling, Somalia-first comments are a slap in the face to the Minnesotans she was elected to serve and a direct violation of her oath of office,” House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) wrote on X. “She should resign in disgrace.”

Omar, the first Somali-American in Congress, appeared to assure her Somali-American constituents that she would do everything in her power to prevent the disputed, breakaway Republic of Somaliland from entering into a sea-access deal with landlocked Ethiopia.

A clip of the Minnesota lawmaker went viral with over 2.6 million views after it was posted on X, with a translation saying Omar had said: “As Somalis, one day we will go after our missing territories.”

The congresswoman claims her remarks were lost in translation.

FANNIE WILLIS GOING DOWN ON HER FANNY

Former federal prosecutor Andrew Cherkasky joined “Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy” to discuss allegations Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis inappropriately spent state tax money on the prosecution of former President Trump.

Host Trey Gowdy opened the discussion by pointing out that Willis was “already catching heat” over claims she hired alleged romantic partner Nathan Wade to prosecute Trump in Georgia’s election interference case, but newly unsealed court documents surrounding Wade’s divorce case are “generating even more questions.”

Gowdy asked, “Even if these allegations are true, does it impact State of Georgia v. Donald J. Trump and if so, how?”

“I’m not sure if this is more soap opera or like [a] John Grisham legal thriller, because the cards seem to be falling for Fani Willis,” Cherkasky responded.

Cherkasky expressed the need for a thorough investigation into potential honest services fraud by Willis and raised concerns over reports suggesting meetings between Willis, Wade and the Biden White House, raising suspicions of potential election interference.

TOP TRUMP PROSECUTOR, GEORGIA DA ALLEGED TO BE IN ‘IMPROPER’ ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP: COURT FILING

“What is going on here is essentially kickbacks. Fani Willis bringing in somebody unqualified for the job, and it seems as though he’s giving her these elaborate trips, these elaborate vacations. That’s something that we know as honest services fraud,” said Cherkasky.

“I think that is something that needs a very deep investigation, but even more concerning now is these reports that we hear that Fani Willis and Nathan Wade were taking meetings at the White House. And what I really want to know about those meetings is whether there was an improper purpose where they trying to, set the timing up so that it would interfere with the 2024 election. All of these questions need very serious answers, I think, well before we get to any potential trial against Donald Trump.”

FULTON COUNTY PROSECUTOR, FANI WILLIS ROMANTIC PARTNER, MET WITH BIDEN WHITE HOUSE TWICE BEFORE CHARGING TRUMP

Cherkasky underscored the significance of determining the role of these White House meetings in order to understand if there was any directive from the top to manipulate the prosecution of former President Trump.

The word on the street is that Fannie did some time in the White House with Branden. Apparently they were coordinating the timing of her prosecution of Trump. The idea was to tie him up during the campaign, which would help Branden t secure a second term.

She is already under investigation for dropping a load of greenbacks into her lovers bank account. The word around town that this was a “quid pro quo.” She received mutual benefits form her lover, the Prosecutor.

Seems now, that there will be two ways that this progressive slut is going down. Can’t wait to see this unfold,

The U.S. government, along with 30 other world leaders condemned the decision of Venezuela’s highest court to block the presidential candidacy of María Corina Machado.

President Biden previously threatened the South American country to reimpose economic sanctions on Venezuela if it failed to allow fair democratic elections.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, the U.S. State Department said it is reviewing Venezuela’s election process after Venezuela’s highest court-the Tribunal Supremo de Justicia- ruled that Machado would not be allowed to run for president.

“The United States is currently reviewing our Venezuela sanctions policy, based on this development and the recent political targeting of democratic opposition candidates and civil society,” State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said.

JUDGE FROM UGANDA WHO SITS ON THE ICJ IS A HERO TO ISRAELIS

Who is Julia Sebutinde, the only ICJ judge to oppose all measures against Israel?

The Ugandan justice even voted against the charges that Israel’s own justice, Aharon Barak, voted yes on.

Julia Sebutinde, Uganda’s representative to the International Court of Justice (ICJ), has become a hero amongst Israel supporters, though her country distanced itself from her. She was among the 17 judges who deliberated on interim measures in the case concerning the Application of the Genocide Convention in the Gaza Strip (South Africa v. Israel) on Friday. She uniquely voted against all proposed provisional measures, standing out as the sole permanent judge to do so, in contrast to Ad hoc Judge Aharon Barak, who opposed most but supported two.

In her dissenting view, she argued that the core of the dispute was fundamentally political, not legal, and asserted the absence of a credible indication of genocidal intent by Israel.

Adonia Ayebare, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Uganda to the United Nations, criticized Sebutinde on X. “Justice Sebutinde ruling at the International Court of Justice does not represent the Government of Uganda’s position on the situation in Palestine. She has previously voted against Uganda’s case on DRC [Democratic Republic of the Congo]. Uganda’s support for the plight of the Palestinian people has been expressed through Uganda’s voting pattern at the United Nations,” the ambassador tweeted.

Sebutinde is the first African woman to serve on the court

69-year-old Julia Sebutinde is a distinguished judge from Uganda, serving her second term on the International Court of Justice (ICJ) since March 2012. She is the first African woman to hold this position. She has a rich background in law, having graduated from Makerere University, obtained a diploma from the Law Development Centre in Kampala, and a Master of Laws from the University of Edinburgh, after which she worked in various legal capacities in Uganda, the UK, and Namibia. Sebutinde’s notable career includes serving as a judge in the Special Court for Sierra Leone, presiding over high-profile corruption inquiries in Uganda, and her election to the ICJ, reflecting her significant contributions to international justice.

“In my respectful dissenting opinion, the dispute between the State of Israel and the people of Palestine is essentially and historically a political one,” she wrote in her dissenting opinion. “Calling for a diplomatic or negotiated settlement, and for the implementation in good faith of all relevant Security Council resolutions by all parties concerned, to find a permanent solution whereby the Israeli and Palestinian peoples can peacefully coexist,” she wrote.

Key UN Gaza aid agency UNRWA runs into diplomatic storm

By Mark Lowen, in JerusalemBBC News

In Gaza, a strip of land fast becoming a wasteland, few international aid bodies can still operate. The United Nations is one of them.

Its Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, or UNRWA, was founded in 1949, working in Gaza, the West Bank, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan, caring for the 700,000 Palestinians who were forced or fled from their homes with the creation of the state of Israel. Funny thing though, we didn’t hear anything about the 2,000,000 Jews who left their homes from Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Morocco, and Tunisia.

It runs medical and educational facilities, including teacher training centers and almost 300 primary schools – as well as producing the textbooks that educate young Palestinians. (yeah they produce textbooks to educate that Jews stole their land – should be the other way around) In Gaza alone, it employs some 13,000 people. As the biggest UN agency operating in Gaza, it has been key to humanitarian efforts. Israel rejects that claim and has often criticised the set-up of UNRWA for the way it allows refugee status to be inherited.

In 2022, the Israeli watchdog IMPACT-se said UNRWA educational material taught students that Israel was attempting to “erase Palestinian identity, steal and falsify Palestinian heritage, and erase the cultural heritage of Jerusalem”, adding that the agency promoted “anti-Semitism, hate, intolerance and lack of neutrality”.

The European Commission identified what it called “anti-Semitic material” in the schoolbooks, “including even incitement to violence”. The European Parliament has called repeatedly for EU funding to the Palestinian Authority to be conditional on removing such content. UNRWA has previously said that reports made about its educational material were “inaccurate and misleading” (of course they would deny it after caught red handed) and that many of the books in question were not used in its schools.

In 2018, the administration of Donald Trump, a staunch supporter of Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, ceased financial support altogether for UNRWA, calling the body “irredeemably flawed”.

Israel’s foreign minister has labelled UNRWA “the civilian arm of Hamas” and said it should not have a role in post-conflict Gaza, which begs the question: if the United Nations won’t be allowed to pick up the pieces of a shattered territory, what will?

BIDEN INHALING TRUMP’S EXHAUST

Donald Trump has opened up a 4.3 percent lead on Joe Biden in a hypothetical presidential election matchup between the two, according to an analysis of recent polling by website Real Clear Polling (RCP). It gives the Republican frontrunner 47.3 percent of the vote, ahead of the Democratic incumbent on 43 percent.

.

If his head wasn’t screwed on it would also be backwards. Go Brandon Go.

This comes despite Trump being wracked by legal troubles including a second defamation case from writer E. Jean Carroll. It concluded on Friday, with the former president ordered to pay $83.3 million in compensation and damages.

The latest RCP polling average, based on an average of multiple surveys conducted between January 3 and 24, was released on Saturday. Biden hasn’t been ahead of Trump in the polling average conducted by RCP since September 2023. Newsweek contacted representatives of Donald Trump and Joe Biden for comment by email on Saturday.

The most-recent poll included by RCP was a survey of 1,028 registered voters conducted by Ipsos for Reuters between January 22 and 24, which placed Trump on 43 percent of the vote against 38 percent for Biden. This puts Trump ahead by five points, a stark contrast to the previous Ipsos/Reuters survey, which took place from January 14 to 16 and gave Biden a one-point lead.

Between January 21 and 23, YouGov polled 1,497 registered voters for British weekly newspaper The Economist. It put Trump on 44 percent versus 43 percent for Biden, though this was within the 2.8 percent margin of error.

A poll conducted by Harris X for news outlet The Messenger between January 17 and 21, of 3,034 registered voters, put Trump six points ahead of Biden on 53 percent versus 47 percent, with a 1.8 percent margin of error.

Previous surveys were conducted this month, by Morning Consult from January 19 to 21 and Harvard-Harris between January 17 and 18, also put Trump ahead of Biden by five and six points respectively, well above the margin of error.

On Tuesday, Trump won the Republican New Hampshire primary with 54.3 percent of the vote ahead of Nikki Haley, the former South Carolina governor, with 43.4 percent. Eight days earlier, Trump won the first GOP presidential contest, the Iowa caucus, with 51 percent of the vote versus 21.2 percent for his nearest rival, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who then dropped out and endorsed him.

Trump’s slew of electoral and polling triumphs has come despite him being embroiled in legal battles, including E. Jean Carroll’s second defamation trial, which lasted from January 16 to 26.

A jury had already concluded Trump sexually abused Carroll in a New York department store, then defamed her when she spoke out, during a separate case in May 2023 and ordered him to pay $5 million in damages. On Friday, he was instructed to pay an additional $83.3 million, with the jury concluding he had “acted maliciously, out of hatred, ill will, or spite, vindictively, or in wanton, reckless, or willful disregard for of Ms. Carroll’s rights.”

Trump has consistently denied either sexually abusing or defaming Carroll and described Friday’s judgment as “absolutely ridiculous.”

A civil-fraud case against Trump, his adult sons and The Trump Organization is also ongoing in New York, with presiding Judge Arthur Engoron having already concluded that the former president is liable for fraud; it could also see him banned from the city’s real-estate market.

In addition to his civil cases, Trump has four upcoming criminal cases related to claims he orchestrated the payment of hush money to a pornographic actress; mishandled classified documents; and broke the law attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election result, both nationwide and in the state of Georgia specifically. The 2024 Republican frontrunner has pled not guilty to all charges and has repeatedly said that the cases against him are politically motivated.
