Supporters of Vice President Kamala Harris are rallying behind her campaign despite admitting that they can’t say where she stands on most big issues – as the Democratic nominee continues to flip-flop on major policies.11 Showstopping Chameleon Species

Harris, 59, has reversed her stances on energy issues, health care and illegal immigration since replacing President Biden at the top of the Democratic ticket, in an apparent effort to make herself more electable to moderates in key swing states. 

Harris’ abandoned policy positions include her pledges to eliminate private health insurance, decriminalize illegal border crossings, ban fracking for oil and natural gas, and ban the sale of new gas-powered cars by 2035 — each of those made in 2019 when the then-California senator was seeking the Democratic presidential nomination.

In recent weeks, The Post has spoken to several swing-state voters who plan to cast ballots for Harris. The majority of them painted a vague picture of what the vice president stands for – “pro-choice” and “the environment.”

But the main reason they’re backing Harris is because she is not former President Donald Trump.

Former Labor Secretary Robert Reich, who served during Bill Clinton’s presidency, wrote in a column published Friday that Elon Musk was “out of control,” and argued he needed to be reined in.

“He may be the richest man in the world. He may own one of the world’s most influential social media platforms. But that doesn’t mean we’re powerless to stop him,” Reich wrote, including a list of six things people could do to rein in Musk. 

After Musk purchased Twitter in 2022, now known as X, Reich deemed the purchase “dangerous nonsense.” He argued Musk’s purchase was “just about power,” rather than free speech.

“In the United States, the Federal Trade Commission should demand that Musk take down lies that are likely to endanger individuals – and if he does not, sue him under Section Five of the FTC Act,” Reich argued. “Musk’s free-speech rights under the first amendment don’t take precedence over the public interest.”

The former labor secretary also suggested the U.S. government terminate its contracts with Musk’s Space X. 

 

THE TROJAN HORSE AKA THE KAMALEON

 In the Aeneid by Virgil, after a fruitless 10-year siege, the Greeks constructed a huge wooden horse at the behest of Odysseus, and hid a select force of men inside, including Odysseus himself. All voters beware of the Kamaleon’s Trojan Horse. As she campaigns, giving speeches and interviews alike, she sounds more like Trump. She is now for border control, for jailing illegals, for the Constitution, and for incarcerating law breakers. But once she gets in office expect a U-Turn to the left. In the only interview she has done thus far, her sidekick stood by for moral support, Harris addressed the GOP criticism that her policy positions had changed since she ran for president in 2020, saying her “values” have not changed. Harris talked about the need to tackle climate change but largely avoided the politics behind fracking. Watch out, Pennsylvania, the same old Harris back in 2020, but today’s version says, “my Values Haven’t Changed.” Any sensible person can spot this lie from a mile away.

WE USUALLY DON’T WEIGH IN ON SPORTS, BUT CAITLIN CLARK IS DIFFERENT

To those of you who follow the WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association) we find it necessary to comment. By now you all have heard of the number one draft pick, Caitlin Clark; she was chosen by the Indiana Fever. Fresh out of Iowa, where she set scoring records, her time in the WNBA has been fraught with many intentional fouls, some of them very aggressive.

Clark has maintained composure when subject to these flagrant fouls which have led to the opponent receiving a technical violation. What gets our GOAT is that a certain segment of those who play against her think that brutally bullying her on the court would result in her losing game. Of course that won’t happen, but what will happen is that those who bully will be suspended sooner than later.

Last night Clark, scorched the nets for 31 points. She was literally on Fire, as the Fever exploded in their torching the Chicago Sky. Indiana has been one of the hottest teams in the league since the Olympic break, improving to 5-1 in that span. By hitting the century mark on Friday — a season high in scoring — the Fever demonstrated once more how they’ve had the best offense in the league since mid-June and how they’ve become one of the WNBA’s most dangerous teams.

However, there is enmity by a certain population in the league. We don’t have to mention them in order to protect the guilty. Seems there is jealously here due to the fact of Clark’s national attention and her scoring a $28 large contract with Nike.  Ms. Clark brings recognition to the league which is good for all concerned. This type of exposure will obviously lead to higher salaries. We mention that Clark is making only $76,000 per year. A small pittance in the scheme of things.

 

TRUMP’S STANCE ON ABORTION FLUX

“I’ll be voting no,” Mr. Trump told Fox News, even as he said he disagreed with his home state’s current ban on abortions after six weeks of pregnancy.

Passage of the ballot measure, called Amendment 4, would allow patients to seek an abortion up to about 24 weeks of pregnancy.

Mr. Trump has said he has “no regrets” about his role in the reversal of Roe, but he has also embarked upon an election-season effort to present himself as supportive of abortion protections and reproductive rights.

Last week, Mr. Trump claimed on social media that his administration would be “great” for women’s “reproductive rights.” And on Thursday, he said he would require insurance companies or the federal government to pay for all costs associated with in vitro fertilization treatments if he won in November.

Mr. Trump’s announcement regarding I.V.F. coverage contained few specifics about the proposal or how he might address its cost.

The Democrats are trying to frame this election on one issue, that being abortion because they have no other. These malcontent pervs have destroyed the country in four years. Even before he was elected, the Deep State determined that Trump was an existential threat to their domain. The levers of government went into action. They impeached him twice, they pulled the Russian Card, they falsified documents that were presented to the court, they investigated him, they sued him and now they are charging him again for crimes while in office.

The Supreme Court has already ruled on this, but they wont’ give up. Special prosecutor Smith can’t take defeat, so what does he do, changes a few words and goes after President Trump once again. Superseding indictment is unlikely to go to trial before the November election

Special Counsel Jack Smith on Tuesday filed another indictment against former President Trump over his alleged efforts to challenge the results of the 2020 presidential election, revising the charges in an effort to navigate a recent Supreme Court ruling that gave former presidents immunity for official acts.

The new indictment keeps the prior criminal charges but narrows and reframes the allegations against the Republican presidential nominee after a Supreme Court ruling that conferred broad immunity on former presidents.

Specifically, the indictment has been changed to remove allegations involving Department of Justice officials and other government officials. It clarifies Trump’s role as candidate, and makes clear the allegations regarding his conversations with then-Vice President Mike Pence in his ceremonial role as president of the Senate.

The new indictment removes a section of the previous indictment that had accused Trump of trying to wield the Justice Department to undo his 2020 loss. The Supreme Court recently ruled in a 6-3 decision that Trump was immune from prosecution for official White House acts.

Trump has been charged with conspiracy to defraud the United States; conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding; obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding; and conspiracy against rights. Those charges, to which Trump pleaded not guilty, remain. Smith alleges that Trump participated in an effort to enlist slates of fake electors in key states won by then-candidate Biden to attest that Trump had in fact won, and that he pressured Pence to reject legitimate electoral votes.

The stripped-down criminal case was filed three days ahead of a deadline for Smith’s office to tell the judge in the case how they wanted to proceed after the Court’s decision. It comes ahead of a status hearing next week in court before U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan.

The special counsel’s office said the updated indictment, filed in federal court in Washington, was issued by a grand jury that had not previously heard evidence in the case. The new grand jury has only heard this new information.

The original indictment detailed how Jeffrey Clark, a top official in Trump’s DOJ, wanted to send a letter to elected officials in certain states claiming that the DOJ had supposedly “identified significant concerns that may have impacted the outcome of the election” and had asked top department officials to sign it, but they refused.
