The unprecedented criminal trial of former President Trump resumes Tuesday morning after the 2024 presumptive Republican presidential nominee was again held in contempt of court, fined, threatened with jail time for future gag order violations, and told he’ll be required to sit in the Manhattan courtroom for at least another two weeks.
The charges are related to alleged payments made to silence adult film actress Stormy Daniels about an alleged 2006 extramarital affair with Trump before the 2016 presidential election.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg must convince the jury that not only did Trump falsify the business records related to alleged hush money payments but that he did so in furtherance of another crime, conspiracy to promote or prevent election, which is a felony.
On their own, falsifying business records and conspiracy to promote or prevent election are misdemeanor charges.
Monday’s day in court began with Judge Juan Merchan ruling on remaining alleged gag order violations, and ruling, once again, that the former president violated that rule.
Merchan imposed a gag order on Trump before the trial began, ordering that Trump cannot make or direct others to make public statements about witnesses with regard to their potential participation or about counsel in the case – other than Bragg – or about court staff, DA staff or family members of staff.
The judge on Monday fined Trump another $1,000 for a Truth Social post about the trial and said he will begin to “consider a jail sentence” for the former president should he violate the gag order again.

The Democrat party has pushed through numerous laws, regulations and rules, which were rubber stamped by numerous presidents; this allowed the importation of peoples from Islamic countries; Jewish members of Congress have, in many cases, been co-sponsored many of these laws, the reason being that they wanted to show that they were members of the team.
Jewish voters consistently have voted Democrat. In the most recent presidential elections 70% or more of the time those of the Jewish persuasion have voted Democrat. Their vote is now coming back to haunt them. Ivy league schools which have a large percentage of Jewish students are the target of Muslim, Antifa and outright antisemitic mobs. Many of these agitators are members of Hamas. As noted previously, Israel and antisemites are one in the same. If you are anti-Israel, you are antisemite. Jew Haters abound on these campuses. Supporters of Hamas are ubiquitous.
Yale University’s undergrad student body is 27 percent Jewish (1,500 Jewish undergrads out of 5,477 total). Percentage-wise, it narrowly beats out its Ivy League rival Harvard University, which is 25 percent Jewish (1,675 out of 6,694 undergrads). But Cornell University has 18 percent Jewish students (3000 out of 16000) and Columbia University 20 percent Jewish (1800 out of 8800)both have more Jews in total — 3,000 and 1,800, respectively.
Jewish congressman and Senators went along on this liberal experiment because they did not want to offend their progressive colleges. Maybe they knew what was going to happen, but they kept their mouth shut. In other words they didn’t want to shut the door which they came through. However, Muslims have taken over cities one by one, they request separate facilities, they don’t abide by the U.S. legal system, but worship Sharia Law. The Biden administration last week put a hold on a shipment of U.S.-made ammunition to Israel, two Israeli officials told Axios.
Why it matters: It is the first time since the Oct. 7 attack that the U.S. has stopped a weapons shipment intended for the Israeli military.
The incident raised serious concerns inside the Israeli government and sent officials scrambling to understand why the shipment was held,Israeli officials said.
President Biden is facing sharp criticism among Americans who oppose his support of Israel. The administration in February asked Israel to provide assurances that U.S.-made weapons were being used by Israel Defense Forces in Gaza in accordance with international law. Israel provided a signed letter of assurances in March.

Driving the news: The Biden administration is highly concerned Israel will invade the southern Gaza city of Rafah where more than one million displaced Palestinians have been taking shelter.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released several statements in recents days saying he intended to order an invasion of Rafah regardless of whether Israel and Hamas reach a deal for the release of hostages being held in Gaza and a ceasefire.
Netanyahu hinted at tensions with the Biden administration in a statement on Holocaust Remembrance Day issued Sunday.
“In the terrible Holocaust, there were great world leaders who stood by idly; therefore, the first lesson of the Holocaust is: If we do not defend ourselves, nobody will defend us. And if we need to stand alone, we will stand alone,” he said.
Behind the scenes: Last Wednesday U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Israel and had a“tough”conversation with Netanyahu regarding a possible Israeli operation in Rafah, two sources briefed on the meeting said.
Blinken told Netanyahu during their meeting that “a major military operation” in Rafah would lead to the U.S. publicly opposing it and would negatively impact U.S.-Israel relations.
A day later White House spokesman John Kirby told reporters that Israeli leaders understand that President Biden “is sincere” when he talks about the possibility of changes to U.S. policy regarding the Gaza war “should they move ahead with some sort of ground operation in Rafah that doesn’t take into account the refugees.”
White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said at a Financial Times conference in Washington on Saturday that the Biden administration made clear to Israel that the way it will conduct an operation in Rafah will influence U.S. policy towards the Gaza war.The big picture: Egyptian and Qatari mediators are still trying to reach a hostage deal between Israel and Hamas that would lead to a pause in the fighting in Gaza.
The Biden administration is deeply involved in the efforts and CIA director Bill Burns joined talks in Cairo over the weekend.
Hamas in a statement on Friday said it was reviewing the current proposal with “positive spirit” and was “going to Cairo in the same spirit to reach an agreement.”
While Israel waits for Hamas’ response to the proposal, Netanyahu has issued several statements over the weekend saying he won’t agree to end the war as part of a hostage deal.
Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant visited Israeli military forces in Gaza on Saturday and said Israel sees “worrying signals” that Hamas isn’t going to move toward an agreement on releasing hostages.
“This means that an operation in Rafah and in other parts of Gaza will take place in the very near future,” Gallant said.

Radical activists trained US student groups on ‘resistance’ – report
Some students received training from activists in Samidoun, which has been considered a terrorist organization in Israel since 2021 and Germany since 2023.
Radical activists helped train student activists on US campuses, according to a report by Wall Street Journal.
The report details the ways in which US student groups received training from various veteran activists, including some former Black Panthers, on methods of protest and how to handle disputes.
One student was quoted as saying, “We took notes from our elders, engaged in dialogue with them, and analyzed how the university responded to previous protests.”
The decentralized nature of the anti-Israel student movement makes cross-group organization more difficult, but the students’ training may have helped them achieve their current success.
Some of the Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapters called for a “day of resistance” as soon as the war broke out.
Some SJP chapters have been suspended by universities, including the one at Columbia.Some students received training from activists in Samidoun, an organization that was recently banned in Germany due to supporting the October 7 massacre. Samidoun has been considered a terrorist organization in Israel since 2021.

Biden condemning both antisemitism and Islamophobia while anti-Israel demonstrations rage across the country caused an uproar once again on Thursday.
After intense media and political pressure, the president finally gave remarks on the nationwide anti-Israel encampments forming on college campuses. Biden specifically condemned the violence that has broken out but also warned about “hate speech” of any kind, whether it’s antisemitism or Islamophobia.
The president’s reference to Islamophobia along with “discrimination against Arab-Americans or Palestinian Americans” was considered another example of a “very fine people on both sides” comment by many X users.
Hamas infiltrators are partly responsible for the campus riots. Israeli hating Hamas has funneled millions of dollars in funds to campus revolutionaries, some belonging to ANTIFA, others have been hired as Campus stalwarts charged with raising the temperature at these prestigious universities. These outside hires have a record of antisemitism; they are well known by college elites who have sponsored their actions. Case in point is none other than the Jew Hating Muslim president of Columbia, her action alone speaks volume of here criminality. She can’t protect Jewish students which begs the question, when will they sue the university for not honoring their end of the bargain. The bottom line here is that she did not stop the campus takeover in its tracks and there is a reason for it; she is an antisemite. Her actions proved the case.

Tens of thousands of illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as minors and were protected from deportation under an Obama-era executive order will be able to obtain health care through Obamacare under a new rule being published Friday by the Biden administration.
Those who are protected via the 2012 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, along with other illegal immigrants, are currently prohibited from accessing healthcare through the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare. A rule announced Friday will end that prohibition.
The administration says it predicts that the rule, which will go into effect just days before the 2024 presidential election, will result in over 100,000 uninsured illegal immigrants accessing health insurance. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) rule would allow DACA recipients to apply for coverage through HealthCare.gov and state-based marketplaces as soon as November 1. The rule does so by making what HHS calls “technical modifications” to the definition of “lawfully present” used to determine eligibility.

In a statement on the rule, President Biden renewed his calls for those he called “Dreamers” — an activist-preferred term to refer to illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as minors — to be granted a pathway to citizenship along with others of millions of illegal immigrants.
“I’m proud of the contributions of Dreamers to our country and committed to providing Dreamers the support they need to succeed. That’s why I’ve previously directed the Department of Homeland Security to take all appropriate actions to ‘preserve and fortify’ DACA. And that’s why today we are taking this historic step to ensure that DACA recipients have the same access to health care through the Affordable Care Act as their neighbors,” he said.
“On Day One of my administration, I sent a comprehensive immigration reform plan to Congress to protect Dreamers and their families. Only Congress can provide Dreamers permanent status and a pathway to citizenship. Congress must act.”
Vice President Harris, in a separate statement, made a similar appeal.

Humanitarian aid ships from Turkey denied passage to Gaza
Humanitarian supply ships headed from Turkey to Gaza have been denied the right to sail by an international shipping body.
The organization Freedom Flotilla Coalition said in a press statement Saturday afternoon the group organizing for support to Gaza was contacted by the Guinea Bissau International Ships Registry for an inspection of their lead ship.
The inspector for GBISR conducted the inspection on Friday, and the organization withdrew consent for the legal registration and flag use for the two FFC ships, citing the organization’s planned mission to Gaza amid the war between Hamas and Israel.
“Without a flag, we cannot sail. But this is not the end,” wrote the FFC.

Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke admitted that at her Senate confirmation process in 2021 she chose not to disclose her arrest.
The Daily Signal reported Tuesday that Ms. Clarke, head of the Justice Department’s civil rights division, was arrested for a domestic violence dispute in July 2006 while living in Maryland with her husband.
Ms. Clarke’s ex-husband, Reginald Avery, told the American Accountability Foundation in 2021 that she sliced his finger “to the bone” with a knife. The charges against her were ultimately dropped, and she filed paperwork to get the incident expunged from her record.
When Sen. Tom Cotton, Arkansas Republican, asked Ms. Clarke in a written questionnaire during her confirmation hearing if she had been “arrested for or accused of committing a violent crime against any person,” she responded “no.”
In a statement to CNN Wednesday, she tried to explain why she said she hadn’t been arrested.
“Nearly two decades ago, I was subjected to yearslong abuse and domestic violence at the hands of my ex-husband,” she said in the statement.
“This was a terrorizing and traumatizing period that I have sought to put behind me to promote my personal health, healing and well-being,” she added. “The physical and emotional scars, the emotional abuse and exploitation, and the lying are things that no woman or mother should ever have to endure.”
She said she has chosen not to “speak about such traumatic incidents” in her life when she’s had the opportunity.
“I didn’t believe during my confirmation process and I don’t believe now that I was obligated to share a fully expunged matter from my past,” she said.
Sen. Mike Lee, Utah Republican, has called on Ms. Clarke to resign, saying she lied under oath at her confirmation.
“Kristen Clarke is in charge of enforcing civil rights laws. She enforces those laws aggressively against anyone who sneezes near an abortion clinic,” he said. “And not at all against those who vandalize churches.”
“As I have done at every stage of my career as a lifelong public servant, I will continue working to ensure that we carry out our work in a way that centers the experiences and needs of crime victims,” she said in her statement.
