The Supreme Court on Friday delivered a major victory in President Donald Trump‘s quest to block lower courts from issuing universal injunctions that had upended many of his administration’s executive orders and actions.
Justices ruled 6-3 to allow the lower courts to issue injunctions only in limited instances, though the ruling leaves open the question of how the ruling will apply to the birthright citizenship order at the heart of the case.
The Supreme Court agreed this year to take up a trio of consolidated cases involving so-called universal injunctions handed down by federal district judges in Maryland, Massachusetts and Washington state. Judges in those districts had blocked Trump’s ban on birthright citizenship from taking force nationwide – which the Trump administration argued in their appeal to the Supreme Court was overly broad.
“The applications do not raise – and thus we do not address – the question whether the Executive Order violates the Citizenship Clause or Nationality Act,” Justice Amy Coney Barrett said, writing for the majority. “The issue before us is one of remedy: whether, under the Judiciary Act of 1789, federal courts have equitable authority to issue universal injunctions.”
“A universal injunction can be justified only as an exercise of equitable authority, yet Congress has granted federal courts no such power,” she added.

Justices ruled 6-3 to allow the lower courts to issue injunctions in certain cases, though the ruling leaves open the question of how the ruling will apply to the birthright citizenship order in question.
“The applications do not raise — and thus we do not address — the question whether the Executive Order violates the Citizenship Clause or Nationality Act,” Justice Amy Coney Barrett said, writing for the majority. “The issue before us is one of remedy: whether, under the Judiciary Act of 1789, federal courts have equitable authority to issue universal injunctions.”
“A universal injunction can be justified only as an exercise of equitable authority, yet Congress has granted federal courts no such power,” she added.
Rather, the justices considered whether lower courts should have the authority to issue nationwide injunctions at all, or whether doing so exceeds their authority, as argued by U.S. Solicitor General D. John Sauer.
Lawyers for the Trump administration asked the high court to review the case earlier this year, arguing that the three lower courts, each of which blocked Trump’s birthright citizenship order from taking force nationwide, acted beyond the scope of their authority.
U.S. Solicitor General John Sauer stressed this point during oral arguments earlier this month, telling justices that universal injunctions “require judges to make rushed, high-stakes, low-information decisions.”
“They operate asymmetrically, forcing the government to win everywhere,” he said, and “invert,” in the Trump administration’s view, the ordinary hierarchical hierarchy of appellate review.
The Supreme Court decision will have sweeping implications, both in the near- and longer-term, with knock-down effects on the more than 300 federal lawsuits that have challenged White House actions since Trump’s second presidency began on Jan. 20, 2025.
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi praised the high court’s ruling on social media Friday.
“Today, the Supreme Court instructed district courts to STOP the endless barrage of nationwide injunctions against President Trump,” she said, adding that the ruling “would not have been possible without tireless work from our excellent lawyers” at the Justice Department and U.S. Solicitor General John Sauer.

Six additional people have been executed on suspicion of collaborating with Mossad, Israel’s public broadcaster KAN News noted.
Iran has arrested at least 700 people since Operation Rising Lion began due to alleged ties with Israel, the Iranian exiled women’s organization Association Femme Azadi reported on Thursday night.
“Reports confirm the arrest of rabbis and religious leaders in Tehran and Shiraz, accused, without evidence, of ties to Israel,” the organization wrote on its social media.
Ayatollah Khamenei says Iran dealt US ‘severe slap’, claims victory over Israel
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Thursday claimed victory over Israel and said that his country had “dealt a severe slap to the face of America” during his first televised speech since a ceasefire between Iran and Israel was declared following their 12-day war.
In a video broadcast on Iranian state television, Khamenei said the US “engaged in the war directly, convinced that its refusal to intervene would lead to the complete destruction of the Zionist regime”.
“It has gained nothing from this war,” Khamenei said of Washington, adding that “the Islamic republic won, and in retaliation dealt a severe slap to the face of America”.
“Should any aggression occur, the enemy will definitely pay a heavy price,” he said.
We certainly paid a heavy price, no Americans were killed, but Iran’s nuclear program turned into an outright disaster.

Iran is ramping up executions and arrests of suspected Israeli collaborators to restore the image of internal control, an Iran researcher at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), Beni Sabti, told 103FM on Thursday.
According to Sabti, “There have been several executions in recent days – three yesterday and one the day before. They say they are finding more drone hideouts and drone factories. We don’t know what is real and what is not.”
“In Iran, they must feign action, exposure, and discovery. In real time, they were not successful, but now, suddenly, a lot of spies are being discovered,” he added.
Regarding the regime’s strong grip on the country, Sabti said, “You won’t believe it. They’re holding concerts in the middle of the street. The regime is bringing the Tehran Philharmonic to the Grand Square, playing anti-revolutionary songs.”

Sabti also addressed developments within Iran. “No one has seen Khamenei, but he is alive and well,” he stated. “His office continues to release religious statements. We are entering a more religious month of Muharram.”
Disappearance of Khamenei
Sabti explained that Khamenei will take part in the religious ceremonies that will take place during the month: “He will appear in one of the prayers or ceremonies that will take place in the coming days. This is part of the projection of Iranian power – as soon as the leader exists, everything exists, like Sinwar in Hamas.”
Regarding the mysterious disappearance of the Iranian leader, he said: “In recent years, Iran has sacrificed everything on the altar of hatred for Israel, but these are technical delays. He will reemerge soon.”
Sabti clarified that the US could still revive the nuclear issue to some extent.
“Trump is lifting some of the sanctions and is starting to praise them again.”
Sabti: ‘The ball is in the Americans’ hands’
According to him, it is the United States that will determine the future of Iran’s nuclear program.
“They are paving the way again for delays and for renewed pressure. The ball is in the Americans’ hands. Either they are making a lot of mistakes, or this is once again a hidden plan. I don’t think they will be allowed to restore the nuclear program.”
“It has now been discovered that they hid centrifuges in a deeper part of Natanz, which is where we bombed,” Sabti claimed. “There is another part that was known to everyone at the IAEA, Israel, where they hid the advanced centrifuges.”
Sabti explained the Iranians’ method and how they hide and disperse their capabilities: “The Iranians work with a method of dispersion and concealment and disperse their capabilities in all sorts of places. We bombed Fordow, and suddenly it turns out that it is less important.”
Will Iranians revolt?
Regarding a possible uprising within Iran during Operation Rising Lion, he explained, “There was no chance that in 12 days people would revolt. They are being bombed, and it is impossible to hold demonstrations and protests under bombs. Small groups in the first days supported and slandered Khamenei. It was physically difficult to revolt, and there was also no drive, no engine that starts. It would have taken at least another month.”
“Sometimes, things come later – the rage accumulates and reveals the weakness of the regime. Going against the destroyed basis of the regime’s internal security would be something that would really fuel the protest, to see the regime naked. Maybe another month or two. Something in the Iranian public is off. That’s the thing about the trigger,” he said.
Iranians didn’t lose their dissent for the regime; it was just put on hold.
“It’s not that the Iranians forgot about their rage, their anger about electricity, water, or food. It simply didn’t reach the point of murder or a trigger,” he added.
“The Iranians will not forget their dire situation. This regime’s philharmonic orchestra display, maybe 20 people, went. It gives me the impression that Iranians know who is good and who is bad in this story. The public is still a public without weapons and without organization. We did what we could – regime change is their responsibility.”

Supreme Court allows Trump’s third-country deportations, in major test for president
The Supreme Court has been asked to preside over a flurry of lower court challenges centered on Trump’s immigration crackdown.

The Supreme Court on Monday granted the Trump administration’s request to stay a lower court injunction blocking them from deporting individuals to third countries without prior notice— a near-term win for the Trump administration as it looks to quickly enforce its immigration crackdown.
Justices on the high court ruled 6-3 to stay the lower court injunction, with Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Ketanji Brown Jackson dissenting.
“Rather than allowing our lower court colleagues to manage this high-stakes litigation with the care and attention it plainly requires, this Court now intervenes to grant the Government emergency relief from an order it has repeatedly defied,” Justice Sotomayor said.
“I cannot join so gross an abuse of the Court’s equitable discretion,” she added.
At issue was a group of migrants challenging their removals to third countries, or countries that were not their country of origin.
Lawyers for those migrants had urged the Supreme Court earlier this month to leave in place a ruling from U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy, who previously ordered the Trump administration to keep in U.S. custody all migrants slated for deportation to a country not “explicitly” named in their removal orders – known as a third-country deportation.
Murphy, a federal judge in Boston, presided over a class-action lawsuit from migrants who are challenging deportations to third countries, including South Sudan, El Salvador and other countries, including Costa Rica, Guatemala and others that the administration has reportedly eyed in its ongoing wave of deportations.

Murphy ruled that migrants must remain in U.S. custody until they can have the opportunity to conduct a “reasonable fear interview,” or the chance to explain to U.S. officials any fear of persecution or torture should they be released into the country.
Murphy stressed his order does not bar Trump “from executing removal orders to third countries.” Instead, he emphasized in an earlier order, “it simply requires” the government “to comply with the law when carrying” out such removals under the U.S. Constitution and the Trump administration’s wave of eleventh-hour removals and deportations.
‘Respond forcefully’: Katz slams ceasefire violation, orders IDF strike in Tehran

Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered the IDF to strike in Tehran after Iran launched missiles towards Israel’s North when the ceasefire was technically in effect.
“I have instructed the IDF to respond forcefully to Iran’s violation of the ceasefire with intense strikes against regime targets in the heart of Tehran,” Katz said in a statement.
Though there were no reports of injuries in Israel, Katz said that the new policy is to respond with strength to even a small violation of the ceasefire announced by US President Donald Trump overnight between Monday and Tuesday.
In Israel’s most recent strike in Iran, hundreds of Islamic Revolutionary Guard members were killed inside the targeted buildings on Monday, an Israeli official told The Jerusalem Post.
During the strikes, Israel targeted various locations in Tehran, which included the Basij headquarters and Evin Prison, Defense Minister Israel Katz stated.
The waves of Israeli strikes started following Iran’s multiple barrages of missiles directed at Israel, which impacted various areas across the country.
Katz stated that “for every shot fired at the Israeli home front, the Iranian dictator will be punished, and the strikes will continue with full force.”
Israel strikes Fordow
The access points of Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility were also targeted in an Israeli attack on Monday, the spokesperson for Qom Province’s Crisis Management Headquarters said, according to semi-official news agency Tasnim, a day after the US struck the same target.
The official added that there was no danger to residents in the area.
Both the access roads leading to the Fordow site and the entrances and exits were targeted to prevent the removal of materials.
Israel strikes six Iranian airports
Earlier in the morning, the IDF had struck six airports in western, eastern, and central Iran on Monday morning, the military said.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion has had major ramifications on the Justice System. As many of us have seen, rogue judges have decided cases based on DEI. Matter of fact, and we quote, Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor, “I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”So, you have it,straight out of the mares mouth. A biased women from the start who will decide cases not on the law, but on her experience. In other words, there is no problem in cases where minorities are involved, leniency is a given because of their social economic status.
This didn’t just hop out of the box, the education system has been involved in the transition for the past thirty years plus. First off were the trashing of IQ tests, then no grades were given, only pass or fail. Of course everyone passed. Social promotion became the norm, but when these socially deprived kids (poor schools filled with violence, teachers were admonished for punishing kids, absence tolerated, home life was non existant, one parent families, father in jail or on the run) went up against those in Lily White Neighborhoods,they failed in spades. Their skill level was a mirage. Merit was out the door. Why do you think we have all these minority judges?
Moving forward, the Teacher’s Union voted Democrat, they made a deal with the devil; NO SCHOOL CHOICE.. The bottm line here purposely relegates the Black and Hispanic students to D-schools where learning is secondarry, but the socialist agenda is primary. This became a learning experience for the rest of America. They saw what was happening and voted for Trump. Now DEI is on the outs, but there are sabateurs who will do everything in their power to abrogate the directive of the Department of Education.
