Fidel and Ché

The cigar chomping dictator of Cuba has finally past. Coming to power almost six decades ago overthrowing another dictator, Fulgencio Batista.Outside her home in Havana, Rafaela Vargas mourns the death of Fidel Castro.

Outliving a number of U.S. Presidents, Castro had the last laugh.  Castro’s brother Raul does not have Fidel at his back now so expect trouble in the days ahead. Viva la revolucion.  Raul and Ché Guevaracastro

Fidel, we remind you, had an on and off affair with Russia and the United States. His stay was long, his victims many, enduring over the years mostly by force.  Like all Latin America dictators he ruled with an iron fist . Cuba is a throwback in time. A living museum passed by time, standing still for almost sixty years.
