POLLS DON’T LIE, OR DO THEY?

The recent poll showing Biden with a slim lead in the head to head match-up with Donald J. Trump, must be taken with a grain of salt, because a week ago, Trump was 3-6 points in front depending on individual polling. However, the contest will be decided by the “Swing States.”

Former President Donald Trump has an advantage over President Joe Biden in the U.S. states that are likely to decide the 2024 White House race, according to a poll released Wednesday.

Trump gets 48% support on average among swing-state voters, compared with 42% for Biden, according to the Bloomberg News-Morning Consult poll that focused on seven battleground states.

The Republican former president’s edge over the Democratic incumbent was biggest in North Carolina, at 10 percentage points, and smallest in Arizona and Pennsylvania, at 3 points, as shown in the chart below.

Some 51% of swing-state voters said they trusted Trump over Biden to handle the U.S. economy, while 33% said Biden would be better, according to the poll.

President Biden trails Republican front-runner Donald Trump in all seven key swing states in a hypothetical head-to-head 2024 matchup, according to a new survey out Wednesday.

The Bloomberg News/ Morning Consult poll shows Trump leading Biden in Arizona (47%-44%), Georgia (49%-41%), Michigan (47%-42%), Nevada (48%-40%), North Carolina (49%-39%), Pennsylvania (48%-45%) and Wisconsin (49%-44%).

Biden, 81, won six of those seven states over Trump, 77, in the 2020 election — only losing North Carolina.

If the poll results hold on Nov. 5 and the remaining 43 states and the District of Columbia vote the same way they did four years ago, Trump would defeat Biden in the Electoral College by a count of 312-226.

President Biden grabbed a 6% lead over Trump in a national poll released Wednesday even as a survey of battleground states painted a gloomier picture of his reelection prospects.

Biden leads Trump 50% to 44% in their likely presidential election rematch, according to the new Quinnipiac University poll.

The survey showed a significant shift toward Biden since a December poll that placed the two candidates as virtually deadlocked.

The fresh lead was powered primarily by a growing gender gap as women moved strongly into Biden’s camp.

Women backed Biden by a 22-point margin, up from 12 points in the prior month.

“The gender demographic tells a story to keep an eye on,” said Tim Malloy, a Quinnipiac polling analyst. “Propelled by female voters in just the past few weeks, the head-to-head tie with Trump morphs into a modest lead for Biden.”
