The suspect in a car ramming outside Parliament that was being treated as a terror incident has been named as Salih Khater, according to British media reports Wednesday.
Khater, a 29-year-old British citizen, is originally from Sudan, the BBC reported. He was being questioned by authorities in south London on suspicion of preparing an act of terror.
Trump Targets London’s Mayor, Sadiq Khan.
Mr. Khan assumed office only two years ago, replacing Boris Johnson, who went on to become Britain’s foreign secretary. London drew international attention this spring because of a spate of murders, mostly involving knives.
But the number of cases of “violence against the person,” which includes knife crime, has been growing steadily throughout this decade, and the general crime rate has been rising since a low point in 2014, according to London’s Metropolitan Police. All of this has occurred during an eight-year austerity drive by the national government that has squeezed budgets and reduced the number of police officers in London by 26 percent.
The arrest in a Prague hotel of former Syrian Kurdish PYD (Democratic Union Party) leader Saleh Muslim Muhammad is a test case. Its outcome will establish the extent to which the central role against Islamic State played by Syrian Kurds has accrued some broader political legitimacy for their leadership and organizations.
The former PYD leader, who remains among the most prominent and influential of Syrian Kurdish leaders, is set to appear before a Czech court this week. The Turks are seeking his extradition. If extradited, he will with certainty be convicted and might face incarceration for the rest of his life. Kurdish media are calling his capture the most significant apprehension of a Kurdish leader by the Turks since that of PKK founder and leader Abdullah Ocalan in 1998.
The US built the Syrian Democratic Forces – the main instrument for the defeat of IS in its Syrian heartland – around the YPG. Recent statements by senior US officials have indicated that the US intends to remain committed to its allies in Eastern Syria, and to maintain forces in the part of Syria they control, an area covering some 27% of Syrian territory that includes its main oil and gas fields.
he Syrian Kurds declared the establishment of the “Democratic Federation of Northern Syria” over their area of control in March, 2016.
No Western country has recognized or acknowledged this declaration. The Federation, which is today the governing structure in an area where US forces are located, remains entirely isolated diplomatically, even as its armed forces call in US air strikes and work on a daily basis with American Special Forces.
The ties between the PYD and the PKK are at the root of this. The latter has for the last 34 years been engaged in an insurgency against Turkey, demanding autonomy for the country’s Kurds. It is listed as a terrorist organization by both the US and the European Union. Turkey’s warrant against Saleh Muslim, a non-citizen of Turkey, depicts him as a militant member of the PKK.
The question now is whether the involvement of the PYD with the war against IS has acquired a degree of de facto legitimacy for it in the eyes of the West, even in the absence of formal political recognition.
If so, Western pressure on the Czech Republic will lead almost certainly to Muslim’s release, indicating an embryonic, unspoken political alliance now existing between the Syrian Kurdish leadership and the West. This will produce further fury on the part of NATO-member Turkey’s Islamist and increasingly authoritarian leadership.
The United States must pressure Czech to release Saleh without turning him over to the Turkish Dog Erdogan.
ASPEN, Colo. – ISIS in Iraq and Syria has been “dismantled,” with tens of thousands of its jihadist fighters dead, but a promising lead on its leader …
A Le Pen victory could lead to the collapse of the European Union, experts warn, but after the victory of Donald Trump in the US and the Brexit vote in Britain most agree that there is no safe bet in the French race.
A last minute surge in the polls has lifted the hopes and aspirations of Marine Le Pen going into today’s elections. Three heavyweights are brawling for the top two spots. Le Pen’s surge is due to the latest shooting in Paris. Just as Obama was the best gun salesman ever known, the Jihadist is the best “get out the vote” for Le Pen. French cuisine is known for its gastric delights, but to swallow an Islamic diet of death is not what the French ordered. Le Pen, leader of the National Front brings to the table the same issues that Trump brought. “Our country is being invaded by foreigners who find it difficult to simulate into our culture, but want us to accept theirs.”
Areas of Paris are “no go zones” suburban ghettos inhabited by Muslim thugs who target outsiders with threats of physical harm. These banlieues harbor drug dealers, murders and thieves. They have their own mini government. Gendarmes fear to enter these areas. Roché said nothing had changed since 2005 – “neither the police’s policy, nor the very high level of hostility in the poor suburbs” – and warned that any violence could quickly spread. “It spreads from one poor banlieue to another … The fuel is the anger and hostility towards the police forces.”
French politicians are underestimating the level of anger in the country’s troubled banlieues, which risks sparking an explosion of violence, experts have warned.
The alert comes after another night of violence and arrests in several Paris suburbs. Suspects appeared in court on Tuesday on charges of civil disturbances including torching cars and dustbins and attacks on the emergency services.
Academics have accused French politicians of failing to deal with the tinderbox conditions in the banlieues or suburban estates, which they say could spark a national wave of riots in the run-up to the presidential elections in April and May.
Belgacem arrived at the airport and attacked a military patrol in the south terminal.
He tried to seize a servicewoman’s automatic weapon, put his gun to her head and said: “I’m here to die for Allah. In any case people are going to die.”
He was then shot dead by two other soldiers.
A copy of the Koran was found on his body, Mr Molins added.
The gunman who attacked soldiers at Orly airport in Paris on Saturday told his father he had “screwed up” earlier and wanted forgiveness.
Ziyed Ben Belgacem, 39, was killed after he put a gun to a soldier’s head saying he wanted to “die for Allah”.
Earlier on Saturday, he was involved in a shooting and then a carjacking.
His father told French radio Belgacem had phoned after the first attack to say he had “screwed up with a gendarme”, before proceeding to Orly.
Belgacem is described as having been radicalised in prison, and was on a police watch-list.
His criminal record included convictions for armed robbery and drugs offences, Paris prosecutor Francois Molins told reporters late on Saturday.
Intelligence agents searched his home in Garges-les-Gonesse, north of Paris, for evidence of Islamist sympathies, but reportedly found nothing. However, traces of cocaine were discovered during the search.
The sequence of events
Early on Saturday morning, Belgacem was stopped at a checkpoint in Garges-les-Gonesse, north of Paris.
He fired at police with a pellet gun before escaping in a car that was later found abandoned.
Police say he then stole a car at gunpoint from a woman at Vitry, south of Paris. That car was later found at Orly airport.

His father and brother were taken in for questioning in the aftermath of the attack. The brother remains in custody.
Speaking to Europe 1 radio on Sunday, the father said his son was not a terrorist, but someone who “never prayed and he drank”.
“This is what happens under the influence of drink and cannabis,” the father said.
He said he had received a phone call from Belgacem after his initial attack in which he said: “Dad, please forgive me. I’ve screwed up with a police officer.”
Then he hung up saying he was on the motorway.
The BBC’s Hugh Schofield in Paris says the picture is building up of a man on the criminal fringes of society, who also consorted with Islamist radicals.
Orly – located 13km (8 miles) south of Paris – is the capital’s second-largest airport.
The attack came at a sensitive time. France has presidential elections starting next month and remains under a state of emergency.
The Democ-rats are not about to recover from their almost fatal wounds anytime soon. Suffering the shocking defeat of November 8, the infliction of bruises from head to tow caused a near death experience. Their beliefs shattered; for instance, they thought they were on the way to kingdom-come. However, even worse and to their dismay, they are becoming the party of YELLOW PANTS. Trump’s goal is to liberalize, streamline and free us from the BUREAUCRATIC system that so burdens all of us; levied by Democrats and Republicans alike, regulators and judges. This is the beginning of the end for Big Government.
Trump will make it happen. As he said, “I am the President of the United States, not the World.” Obama and the Clinton axis were One World type globalists, a world without borders where your neighbors and government were dictated by the New World Order. WRONG, we will never bow our heads and serve any master but ourselves. Patriots know all too well that the Democrats are the party of ISIS, out to destroy America and its founding values by self inflicted suicide.
On Obama’s watch the children of the world acted like children – fighting among each other, with neighbors and so called friends alike. Others like North Korea filled the Obama void by intimidation, threats and bellicose rhetoric. However, General Mattis is not one to back down from degenerates whose threats beckon a strong response.
Welcoming in the New Year, Turks were celebrating past midnight at a fashionable nightclub when in a flash, a shooter squeezed the trigger killing 39 and injuring dozens. He is on the loose, described as armed and dangerous – while the manhunt continues.
Number One and Two Suspects, “ISIS & outlawed PKK aka theKURDISH WORKERS PARTY” .
That is the official line, but the REAL SUSPECT is Recep Erdogan; a ferocious killer in his own right. Erdogan has thrown in with Russia and al-Assad against ISIS in Syria; his aim is to prevent the Kurds from dividing up the spoils. The Kurds occupy and control large swaths of the Middle East, their numbers are estimated at 25 million.
Turkey is fast becoming an autocratic state. If you don’t show allegiance to Caesar Erdogan you are dead. The journalists, lawyers, advocates of democracy, PKK, Kurdish sympathizers, political opponents, Gulen, United States and all the other suspects are now the focus of a diminutive dictator with a voracious appetite. The days of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk are over.
Muhammad strikes again, killing at last count 84. French media reports say he has been identified as Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, who lived locally. The Islamist killing machine has saturated Europe, no one is safe from the perverted ideology of Muhammad. French senator Nathalie Goulet says the attacks are a “nightmare” and happened despite Nice being a very secure city. Ms Goulet, who is chairwoman of the Senate foreign affairs and security committee, said: “The question is: are we able to prevent it. And my answer would be, unfortunately no.”
Unleashed by the thoughts and indoctrination of fifteen hundred years, the Muhammads of the world are putting into action the perverted ideology of the Koran. Click here for the story from BBC News.
Many are linking the attack to a 2014 audio message from an IS spokesman, Mohammed al-Adnani, who urged followers to stage all manner of attacks. “If you can’t detonate a bomb or fire a shot, manage by yourself… run them over with your car,” he said.
Many of France’s jihadist killers, starting with Mohammed Merah in Toulouse in 2012, began their journey towards militant Islam as petty criminals.
The Nice attacker appears to have followed the same path.
Until the last Mohammad is put to death no one is exempt from the terrorism of the savage Islamist. Global Jihadist can strike at any moment and anywhere; no one is safe. Long held beliefs that the West is responsible (Christianity) for their predicament and Jews are the Satanic Devils as taught in Madrassas . BANGLADESH the most recent target of Islamic wrath -seems you can’t take the BANG out of Bangladesh.
Among the dead from Friday’s attack, the police said, were nine Italians, seven Japanese, two Bangladeshis, one American and one Indian.
The attack also suggests that Bangladesh’s militant networks are internationalizing, a key concern as the United States seeks to contain the growth of the Islamic State.
But wait, Iraq is never out of the news. The 4th of July came a day early to Shia. Bombs away in Baghdad.
The deadliest attack took place in the central Karada district of Baghdad, where a suicide bomber blew up his explosives-laded pickup truck outside a crowded shopping center, killing at least 86 people and wounding up to 170 others, according to a police officer. He said the dead included 15 children, 10 women and six policemen.
