Those who suffer from myopia oftentimes see a skewed world; this can be the result of mind cataracts impairing the focal length of a person’s reality. However, truth be told one has to be able to separate the proverbial forest from the trees. Looking at the whole picture, getting a bird’s eye view of the confrontation staring one in the face is imperative.

To see a perfect world is oftentimes a dream. Nothing in this world is perfect, nothing will ever be; evil can take many faces, some are known, others are stealth. But in the end, the scene is clear for all of those seeking truth, but then it may be too late. Truth will always win over the rewriting of the past or the brush stroke eliminating past stains on the canvas of facts. To confront the demons today is the only honorable thing to do, but we cannot always believe that will happen. History has a way of rewriting itself depending on the author’s state of mind or shall we say the bias of the writer. Journalists have agendas, so do writers who author history. Past fallacies become facts, facts become fallacies. This is how it is. And today we see the collapse of truth because of the power of social media. In reality this is a silent war without blood, but with intent to shut down those who disagree. A subservient world is what they are after.

To understand the lies, to confront the falsehoods is now. To see the breakdown of society, political correctness gone woke has turned the world upside down. Those who seek the truth are belittled, called liars, shills, racists and a lot more. The woke world who controls the media platforms of today give them power, more power than the phalanx militias of tyrants of days gone by. Flash mobs appear out of nowhere, confronting them puts their enemies in harm’s way. Is this the future? Can civility replace calamity? Violent segments of the population are condoned by ruthless politicians who seek the destruction of those who disagree with them.

There is only one way to prevent the flames of woke from spreading, the state militias have to act. One might say that this will lead to bedlam, but the opposite is the case. Violence will beget violence if the woke is allowed to run wild. And we say to those who live in a free society, you are next, your family is next, they will get you. It doesn’t matter where you live, the woke mob is coming to the suburbs. The only protection you have is the militia. You are the militia, your neighbor is the militia. Confronting those who seek your destruction is mandatory for your freedom, liberty and pursuit of happiness. Sometimes it is necessary for the provocateurs to face the barrel of the law. Then, and only then will they understand the meaning of the western mind that built our society. While analyzing COVID-19 samples last year in an attempt to create a vaccine, Dalgleish and Sørensen claim they discovered ‘unique fingerprints’ in the virus that they say could only have arisen from manipulation in a laboratory. They said they tried to publish their findings but were rejected by major scientific journals which were at the time resolute that the virus jumped naturally from bats or other animals to humans.

Microbiologist Dominic Dwyer told Reuters, the Wall St Journal and the New York Times the team requested raw patient data from early cases, what he called “standard practice”.

He said they only received a summary.

China has not responded to the allegation but has previously insisted it was transparent with the WHO.

The US has urged China to make available data from the earliest stages of the outbreak, saying it has “deep concerns” about the WHO report.

Last week, the WHO team concluded it was “extremely unlikely” that the coronavirus leaked from a lab in the city of Wuhan, dismissing a controversial theory that emerged last year.

Wuhan was the first place in the world where the virus was detected, in late 2019. Since then, more than 106 million cases and 2.3 million deaths have been reported worldwide.

What did the WHO team want to see?

The investigators had asked for raw data on the 174 identified cases of Covid-19 from Wuhan in December 2019, Professor Dwyer told Reuters.

Only half of the early cases had been exposed to the seafood market where the virus was initially detected.

“That’s why we’ve persisted to ask for that,” Prof Dwyer said. “Why that doesn’t happen, I couldn’t comment. Whether it’s political or time or it’s difficult… But whether there are any other reasons why the data isn’t available, I don’t know. One would only speculate.”

Thea Kolsen Fischer, a Danish immunologist who was also part of the WHO team, told the New York Times that she saw the investigation as “highly geopolitical”.

“Everybody knows how much pressure there is on China to be open to an investigation and also how much blame there might be associated with this,” she said.

Prof Dwyer said the restrictions on data would be mentioned in the WHO team’s final report, which could be released as early as next week.

The team arrived in early January and spent four weeks in China – the first two in hotel quarantine.

What has been the response from the Chinese?

Beijing has insisted it was transparent with the WHO investigators, whose visit began only after months of negotiations. The experts were closely monitored by the Chinese authorities.

The US accused China of hiding the extent of the initial outbreak and criticised the terms of the visit, which restricted the freedom of the WHO team to travel and interview witnesses, including community members, on health grounds.

The investigators told the New York Times that disagreements, including over access to patient records, were so tense that they sometimes erupted into shouting matches.

Last month, an interim report from the WHO criticised China’s initial response, saying that “public health measures could have been applied more forcefully”.

The WHO team has also called for further investigation into the possibility of “cold chain” transmission, referring to the theory the virus could have spread through the transport and trade of frozen food.

Dr Peter Daszak, a member of the WHO team, said the focus on where the origins that led to Covid-19 might be, could be shifted to South East Asia.

The Biden State Department shut down an inquiry into the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic that was investigating whether the virus stemmed from a leak out of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, Fox News has confirmed.

The Biden administration terminated the inquiry – which was being led out of the State Department’s arms control and verification bureau and initially launched at the request of former Trump Secretary of State Mike Pompeo – after being briefed on the team’s initial findings in February and March.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said at the time that it provided a “partial, incomplete picture” of the virus’s origin.

Psaki on Monday said the White House wants an “expert-driven evaluation of the pandemic’s origins that is free from interference or politicization,” an apparent swipe at China’s lack of transparency. 

But Becerra’s comments at a WHO forum amounted to a stern call for further investigation into the virus’s origins, not just in front of domestic journalists but on the playing field of international diplomacy.

Sadly, this is exactly how government operates in Connecticut. Taxes are raised year after year to fund popular giveaways the state can’t afford, rather than investing in the structural reform needed to improve the lives of Connecticut families, even as they struggle to survive in one of the most unaffordable states in the nation. Consider the economic dynamics of Connecticut today. We have the second highest taxes of any state in the nation. Our energy costs are higher than any state in the contiguous United States. And we have the third highest long-term debt at $85 billion. A quarter of the state’s budget is used just to service this debt — not investing in the future, but paying for the bad decisions of the past. Career politicians running the state’s finances have ignored this exploding debt, opting to spend the money now to garner just enough favor with constituents to win the next election and stay in power. Think of it as going on a massive spending spree while making only the minimum monthly payment on a growing credit card bill. Most households are smart enough to avoid such irrational spending. So, why do we allow our elected officials to do it — and then stick us with the bill? Despite Gov. Ned Lamont’s calls for a “debt diet,” the state’s unpaid obligations continue to spiral out of control. Connecticut’s state employee pension plan has only enough assets to cover 38 percent of what will be ultimately owed to retirees — the fifth worst-funded plan in the nation, with a whopping $76 billion shortfall! To delay the plan’s imminent collapse, Gov. Lamont and his predecessor Dannel Malloy stretched out pension liabilities all the way to 2045, adding billions of dollars of debt onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. In the interim, the state pension plan is its own version of a Ponzi scheme, with the money that is withheld from active workers’ paychecks put not toward their own retirement but toward current benefits to those already retired. What happens when the game of musical chairs stops, current employees retire and there is nothing left? Democrat leaders have essentially said they’ll figure that out later — providing small comfort to state workers who are counting on this money for their retirement. For now, the politicians are able to pretend the crisis doesn’t exist because of two realities not of their making. One, Connecticut is getting an unprecedented $6 billion allocation from President Biden’s COVID relief spending spree — funded with our federal tax dollars. Second, surging tax receipts from an all-time-high stock market have expanded Connecticut’s rainy day fund to more than $3 billion. But both of these are one-time events, rather than recurring revenue. And come the next budget cycle, when this brief reprieve recedes, we will once again face a crisis of unsustainable debt levels and a $2.2 billion budget shortfall compounded by a host of new programs sponsored by Democrat leaders today that they will no longer have the money to fund tomorrow.Considering the long-term budget crisis, you would think the governor and his fellow Democrats would use the current temporary surpluses to pay down debt. Instead, they continue to make government bigger and spend more, and the Democrats try to raise taxes yet again — this time by $3.2 billion over three years. As just one example, the Connecticut Democrats’ spending plan would raise $1 billion in new taxes and put that into an “investment fund” for “building wealth in underserved communities” and “reducing income inequality.” The investments will be overseen by a nine-person commission — chaired by the governor and appointed entirely by his party leadership, rather than voted on by the legislature with open hearings and public debate. Although those may be noble goals, they are being hijacked to create a slush fund to stuff the pockets of Democratic allies while the public is left in the dark. This is the very definition of a rigged system. Every Ponzi scheme in history has eventually collapsed under its own weight when the amount of debt exceeds the ability of current participants to service it. In Connecticut, fixed costs from Medicaid, retiree health care, debt service, pension contributions and the like now make up 52 percent of the state’s annual budget. With more than half of new money being used to pay off old obligations, the state’s Ponzi scheme can’t be that far away from a horrible tipping point. Deferring payments further into the future won’t solve the problem. Neither will building big slush funds for insiders to direct to whatever projects suit their best interests. Reining in out-of-control spending, creating incentives for businesses to move here, revitalizing our cities and creating jobs will. This is precisely what we elect our legislators to do on our behalf. But for more than a year now, under the COVID-19 emergency declaration, one person has had unilateral authority to make all major decisions affecting the people of Connecticut: Gov. Ned Lamont. This has resulted in one of the most sluggish state economies in the nation and the seventh highest number of COVID-related deaths nationwide. It’s time for the governor to let the legislature resume its normal role of spending oversight, cost control, allocating money to where it’s needed most and providing input on public safety. In other words, it’s time to return democracy to the state of Connecticut.
