Shocking, unexpected, no way, cruel, nightmare, dreadful, outrageous, how could this be and surprising are some of the superlatives that described the Polar Vortex effect which covered most of the country. But, the weathermen/women previously warned of the Polar Vortex split. They were right on for once. Most of the country, especially the central plains and down in the Deep Heart of Texas did not forsee the warnings.
But don’t despair because AOC will be there for you. She suggested that the root of the problem is that there are not enough of alternative energy sources, like Green Energy. Of course that is the solution. But tilting at frozen windmills is a fool’s bargain. Solar panel roofs covered in snow and ice are also useless.
An official with the Electric Reliability Council of Texas said Tuesday afternoon that 16 gigawatts of renewable energy generation, mostly wind generation, were offline. Nearly double that, 30 gigawatts, had been lost from thermal sources, which includes gas, coal and nuclear energy.
By Wednesday, those numbers had changed as more operators struggled to operate in the cold: 45 gigawatts total were offline, with 28 gigawatts from thermal sources and 18 gigawatts from renewable sources, ERCOT officials said.
See, the problem here is the future 100% reliance on wind power, gigantic turbines fanning across the horizon where oil derricks once stood. However, as we have just seen, when they go down, we go down. This is not a scenario we looking forward to.
Perhaps AOC should go back to the bar which she once tended, order billions of gallons of Graves 190% alcohol,
fill up the empty oil trucks, and then drizzle the street prior to an expected freeze. Problem solved AOC. Good LUCK ON THE BIG MELT!
